It was announced last week that British Airways is closing all of the Elemis spas in its lounges – read the full story here.
It reminded me that Virgin Atlantic used to have a hot tub in the Clubhouse lounge in Heathrow Terminal 3. See the photo below.
What was bizarre about the jacuzzi is that, despite how the photograph makes it look, it was in the main lounge area, albeit separated by the screen you see behind it.
There was no separate room or private area. You simply changed in the shower room and hopped in.
I don’t know why Virgin Atlantic got rid of it. It clearly added cost to the lounge operation, but in the world of Instagram it would be a huge hit if it returned.
I never used it myself, purely because I never remembered before checking in my swimming trunks …..

The Platinum Card has doubled its sign-up bonus to 60,000 Membership Rewards points, which convert to 60,000 Virgin Points, if you apply by 1st June 2022.
Small business owners should consider the two American Express Business cards. Points convert at 1:1 into Virgin Points.
