Virgin Voyages points deals

Here is what the Virgin Red site has to say:

Ahoy there! This is a limited-time special offer, and there is only a limited number of cabins available. Choose ANY 7-night sailing from Barcelona on Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady between now and 16/10/2022 – just as long as you complete your booking by 19/06/2022.

Not only does this offer present jaw-dropping value – you also get to pick your preferred route and sail dates! Our cousins over at Virgin Voyages have curated three itineraries featuring some of the most idyllic islands and effervescent cities in Europe. All journeys begin and end in Barcelona, with an overnight finale in Ibiza.

It gets even better… When it comes to additional costs, Virgin Voyages has you covered – all food, soft drinks, tips, group fitness classes, entertainment and Wi-Fi are always included.

With menus crafted by Michelin-starred chefs, the responsibly sourced food makes it easy to strike a balance. From their first-to-sea Korean BBQ and elegant steakhouse to the 24/7 diner perfect for satiating those late-night cravings, Virgin Voyages take food, and the experience around it, seriously.

This is your holiday and they’ve made it a point to ensure that you get a healthy dose of Vitamin Sea… This means there are no kids on board. From workout classes and gym facilities to luxe spa treatments, the adults-only voyage gives you plenty of chances to relax, rejuvenate, and restore. And if you want to sit back and do nothing, fresh-pressed juices served poolside will make “nothing” feel like everything.

And when you’re done with whatever self-care looks like for you, the one-of-a-kind, I’ve-definitely-never-seen-anything-like this-before entertainment awaits your arrival. Between modern, larger-than-life retellings of Romeo and Juliet (with a circus twist) and immersive pop-up acts that happen organically throughout the voyage, you’ll see the ship brought to life in new and unexpected ways.

As for digs, you’ll be kicking back in The Sea Terrace (or Limited View Sea Terrace, depending on availability). Designed to give sweeping views of the horizon from the front and back zones of the ship, these cabins boast a configurable bed and high-tech mood lighting, allowing you to transform the space and create your own vibe. To top it all off, the hammock on the terrace is perfect for a little ‘me’ time, while the 24-hour food delivery service is on hand to thwart any pesky 2am cravings.

Word of advice: don’t pay for any flights or transfers until your place on board is confirmed by Virgin Voyages! Spaces are filling up quickly, so pick your jaw off the floor and make a splash by booking your spot today. Hurry, these cabins will be gone faster than you can say “cannonball”.

Virgin Voyages Miami

I fancy a Caribbean cruise instead …..

And why not? (Apart from the need to fly to Miami.)

There are also cruises on Scarlet Lady, the first Virgin Voyages ship. The timings are the same – book by 19th June (or until cabins run out) for travel by 16th October. Look on the Virgin Voyages website to see which cruises operate on which dates.

Here are your options:

Fire & Sunset Soirées (115,000 points)

  • Day 1 – Miami. Departs at 1900
  • Day 2 – Key West or Nassau. Arrives at 0800, departs at 1900
  • Day 3 – Beach club at Bimini. Arrives at 0800, departs at 2000
  • Day 4 – Sailing
  • Day 5 – Miami. Arrives at 0630

Riviera Maya (125,000 points)

  • Day 1 – Miami. Departs at 1900
  • Day 2 – Sailing
  • Day 3 – Cozumel, Playa del Carmen. Arrives at 0800, departs at 2200
  • Day 4 – Sailing
  • Day 5 – Beach club at Bimini. Arrives at 0800, departs at 2000
  • Day 6 – Miami. Arrives at 0630

Dominican Daze (125,000 points)

As above but Day 3 is in Puerto Plata

Mayan Sol (125,000 points)

As above but Day 3 is in Costa Maya

The Caribbean cruises are poorer value, because you are using more points for a shorter cruise, plus you will need flights to Miami. These cruises are also discounted for cash until the end of May.

Note that there is no guarantee that you can book the exact cruise you want, although in reality – with loads reportedly low – it shouldn’t be a problem. No-one who booked when this offer ran a couple of weeks ago had any trouble getting the dates they wanted.

If you want to find out more about Virgin Voyages, here is our report from an afternoon on ‘Scarlet Lady’, the first ship in the fleet.

You can book via the Virgin Red app or online. Filter the ‘Spend’ options by ‘High To Low Points’ to find them quickly.

  • Mark says:

Oh and I’d suggest a few of you sort out a forum post to see who’s going on the same cruise. Refer each other (doesn’t matter if it’s after the booking) and benefit from $200 each in sailors loot. (Was $50)

You can get up to $3200 to spend onboard. I know people on my last cruise who had $600 free spend and I myself had $150

    • Geoff says:

The referrals don’t work between point redemption, or so I have been told by their chat

      • JohnG says:

The terms also specifically exclude access key bookings (T&C 3.f. Combinability). It doesn’t mean it isn’t worth trying, and it may work, but I would be surprised if it did.

    • patrick says:

This is a very good idea. Thanks. Is anyone on the Spanish Obsession departing July 31st?

    • Bradley says:

Can you explain more about how this works please?

    • Chris says:

Might be worth starting a forum thread so the HfP chaps can catch up on the cruise? I’m likely going to take the Spanish or the Med one in August.
Would definitely be up for the drinks tab referrals and else.

  • colinc57 says:

95,000 points can be earned with £380 in Tesco vouchers
( albeit harder to earn volume points now current acco7nt closed)

    • Jonathan says:

And it’s better to use just about any seagulls card over the Tesco’s credit card

      • colinc57 says:

But seagulls don’t do debit cards in uk, and hard to front

        • Jonathan says:

Then you can use Virgin Atlantic’s credit card !

          • colinc57 says:

There where times that a proper bank linked debit card was needed, and the old Tesco debit card was the only way to get points on the spend ( route now closed on play+. / chase )

    • JohnG says:

Certainly one of the better value redemptions of clubcard points, though I don’t know how fast they transfer and whether I’d want to be stuck with the Red points if the deal ended before the transfer did.

  • lee says:

how long has it been taking for people to receive there access key from Virgin to be able to make their booking ?

    • stevenhp1987 says:

I’ve got a cabin booked from the last time this offer came out.

I ordered on the Tuesday at 11:43. I received my access key on the following day at 16:41.

Booked on my preferred dates straight away 🙂

      • Michael says:

Last time round I redeemed on Monday evening and got my access key on Wednesday morning

  • paul says:

As someone with 56 cruises and 3 to come, I have no time free to go on these.

But, I wouldn’t be rushing to go either lol

VERY gimmicky and so far removed from cruising that it’s going to appeal only to those under 30 – who generally cannot afford the initial cost AND the alcohol bill.

You can get a 14 night balcony cruise with drinks, wifi and tips for less than £1200 pp – on a recognised brand that knows what it’s doing.

Think I will wait for them to panic further, introduce a drinks package and drop rates as it will happen !!

    • lee says:

its great value redemption in comparison to what else 95k points get you .
I’m happy I didn’t panic transfer my miles to Hilton during covid .

    • Jen T says:

Having cruised already with Virgin Voyages in early 2022 out of Miami, they definitely know what they’re doing and overall, the service standard as well as hard product exceeded our expectations and previous experiences on 8 other cruise lines. Everyone is different in their preferences, but without travelling on them, I think it’s unfair to comment on what they’re like.

      • Sina says:

I agree Jen, I travelled with them a couple of weeks ago, and they were fantastic! and the food quality is pretty good imo!

        • rob(staaaar) says:

Sina, was that you I met on the BA flight back to LHR after the 80K points cruise?

  • Terry Wolsey says:

Can you use a companion voucher with this deal to book 2 cabins?

  • avstar says:

ROB – 95k redemptions now available again after 12pm today (confirmed by Virgin Red CS, and subsequently booked).

If anyone wants to link with me to do a mutual Sail With Friends referral please DM thanks

  • paul says:

are there any port fees on these virgin redemptions to add ?

    • Rob says:

No, as far as I know. Your only expense is whatever booze you decide to buy for the week.

      • chrischris2202 says:

We do have to pay the taxes and fees as part of the booking correct?

      • paul says:

Yeah did see that. Also if you open 300$ dollar tab currently they give you 50$ top up for drinks .

Just to add, unfortunately there won’t be any extra credit for referrals – Rob has mentioned it already but in case someone missed it:

          f. Combinability. The “Sail With Friends” offer is combinable with most other promotions, particularly individual and public, non-circle promotions. “Sail With Friends” offer is not combinable with Circle offers, Interline rates, Tour Operator rates, sailors traveling on Friends and Family, gifted, or charter voyages, or who travel on a deeply discounted voyage fare (i.e., voyage fares of $100/day or less). Lol, it’s gone again!
