Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Get a 50% bonus – 4.5 Avios per £1 – when you book with Airbnb in June

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

Back in 2019, British Airways partnered with Airbnb to offer Avios with each stay you book.  This sits – literally – alongside BA’s existing hotel partners on this page of ba.com.

You earn 3 Avios per £1/€1/$1 spent at Airbnb.

During June 2022, however, this is increased to a generous 4.5 Avios per £1/€1/$1.

How to earn Avios when you stay with Airbnb

The only snag is that you MUST book via a dedicated link on ba.com.  You will not receive any Avios if you go via the standard Airbnb home page.

The terms and conditions state that you will receive your Avios within 60 days of booking, not 60 days of staying.

In a recent change, you can also now earn Avios for booking Airbnb Experiences.

These are, to quote:

Earn Avios with Airbnb

Enjoy unique experiences designed and hosted by locals that go beyond typical tours or workshops. Experiences offer guests the chance to explore new places and cultures – both virtually or in-person.”

You will usually earn 3 Avios for every £1/€1/$1 spent on Airbnb Experiences.

Again, however, there is a special offer running until 28th June 2022. Airbnb Experiences bookings made by this date will earn 4.5 Avios per £1/€1/$1.

You can find out more about the general offer, including the detailed terms and conditions, on the Airbnb page of ba.com here.

The only reference to this special offer, oddly, is on this promotional page of ba.com.

Just spent £2,500 on an Air BnB before reading this. D’oh!

Trying to work out if I will have qualified for this. Have literally just booked a 3.5k Air BnB stay for next year through the BA executive club App. I made that booking on 5th June and did enter my BA exec club number in the AirBnB portal.
Any idea if this will qualify as it would be a huge boost!

I notice in the T&Cs it just mentions when the trip has to be booked by but not when it has to be taken – does this mean if I book a trip for next year now, I will be awarded the points ?
