  First time I’ve had this – BA.com not letting me checkin, need to verify APIS – but to do that need to re-enter passport number for security and it won’t accept the passport number.

  (Wife’s) Passport number is correct and flown on it several times with BA, have updated it in her baec profile but still no joy. Daren’t try again as it warmed me about locking the booking if I get it ‘wrong’ again.

  Anyone any ideas or seen this before? All the others in the family are fine

    Just go to a desk at the airport. They’ll swipe the passport and it’ll fix it.

    SeatSpy will send you alerts if you pay for their First Class membership tier. We normally have them up within 24 hours of them appearing though.

  How is the 4,200 Aer LIngus Avios figure calculated? At a rate of 3 Avios per Euro for the fare less taxes (EUR 1550ish – EUR 300ish), Isn’t it closer to 3,750 Avios

  Also, now that United miles never expire, and individuals may already have a generous Avios balance. If people were considering using this route on an occasional basis, would it be useful routing them to United at the 100% rate on a P fare instead to build up a balance to use on US domestics?

    I was guessing that GOVERNMENT taxes, which in theory is all is deducted, waere less than you think. I could be wrong of course.

    Worth noting that if you have Marriott Plat/Titanium status, as I do, you can transfer the United miles into Bonvoy at 1:1.

  I must remember that about Aer Lingus. We have a cash Business Class booking to JFK coming up. I don’t really want to collect Aer Club points but I am planning some Veiling flights over the next 6 months so I’ll do some research in this regard.

  Absolutely agree – I’ve never managed to spot the booking fare on the website. The only place I’ve found the code is in the original booking confirmation email. Even departure reminder emails don’t have it.

  The Bonvoy redemption points pricing for some of the O2 events is a bit of a mystery to me. I would have thought that Andrea Bocelli would have been at least 50K, compared with other current & past performers. Unsurprisingly, IMHO, it’s now sold out. Anyway, if any other HfP readers are going, see you on the 30th! It’ll be interesting to see where the new suite is, compared to the old one.
