News in brief:
An update for anyone who signed up for our BA Prepaid Mastercard offer
Over late July and early August, we ran a promotion with British Airways to offer 3,000 Avios when you signed up for the free BA Prepaid Mastercard.
(This offer is now closed – if you sign up today you will just receive the standard 1,500 Avios.)
Due to, ahem, IT issues with your favourite airline, the promo code box disappeared from the application page on Friday 12th August. This was despite the fact that the offer ran until Sunday 14th August.
You don’t need to worry. British Airways has adjusted all applications received on Saturday 13th August and Sunday 14th August so that they will receive the full 3,000 Avios bonus.
A few people who applied last weeked who were not HfP readers are going to get an unexpected boost, but this was the easiest solution given that it was impossible to track who applied as a result of reading HfP and who didn’t.
Apologies for the inconvenience, and thanks to everyone who applied regardless last weekend in the hope that we would ensure they didn’t lose out.

Earn 8x your normal Avios at eBay this weekend
I’m not sure how widespread this offer is, but if your Nectar account is linked to your eBay account, you may see an offer for 7x bonus points (for a total of 8x points) on purchases made by 22nd August.
You may see a rotating banner for the offer at the top of the eBay home page. You must click ‘Activate Now’ to register. If you don’t see it, look for a registration link in the Nectar app under ‘Partner Offers’.
The base earning rate at eBay is 1 Nectar point (0.625 Avios) per £1 spent. With this offer, you would receive 8 Nectar points (5 Avios) per £1 spent.
There is a £15 minimum spend on one item required. There is a cap of 300 base Nectar points per item – so 2,400 points in total with this offer – and the usual eBay rules on excluded categories apply.
The eBay home page is here. You can find out more about the Nectar partnership, and link your card, on this special eBay page.
