Hilton Honors and IHG One Rewards are both offering new ‘buy points’ bonuses at the moment.
Hilton Honors:
Hilton has brought back its offer of a 100% bonus when you buy points. This runs to 22nd November.
The Hilton ‘buy points’ page is here. The maximum purchase is doubled, at least for me, to 160,000 points. This would double up to 320,000 points with a 100% bonus.

Doubling the cap is more useful than you might imagine, since 320,000 points is what you need to book a 5-night stay at an 80,000 points per night luxury hotel, given the ‘5 for 4’ deal given to all elite Hilton Honors members.
This is the deal I used to book five nights at the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah Dubai over Christmas 2020, saving over 60% on the cash price. I wrote about how I did that in this article.
The cost of 320,000 points would be $1,600 (£1,432) which is 0.45p per point, assuming you get the 100% bonus. Our target valuation for a Hilton Honors points is 0.33p but – given the current hotel market – it isn’t hard to beat 0.45p, especially as Hilton retains caps on how many points a particular hotel can charge.
Even at cheap end of the market, you have hotels like the Hampton in Krakow. This is 10,000 Hilton Honors points per night (so £45 via this sale) or £63 per night for cash for a May weekend and around £100 in Summer.
The page to buy points is here if you are interested.
The offer runs to 22nd November.

IHG One Rewards:
IHG One Rewards has launched a new and time-limited 100% ‘buy points’ bonus, which is as generous as you ever see.
This offer only runs to 21st October.
The maximum number of points you can buy is 300,000 (ie 150,000 plus the 150,000 bonus). The minimum purchase to trigger the bonus is 11,000 points.
The page to buy points is here.
With a 100% bonus, you would be able to buy up to 300,000 IHG points for (at current exchange rates for $1,500) £1,340.
I usually value IHG One Rewards points at 0.4p. You are paying 0.45p here so it not necessarily a slam dunk unless you are just topping up your account. The skill is to use them at hotels where you can get substantially more than 0.4p per point of value, although this got a little harder since IHG moved towards revenue-based redemption pricing. You can learn more about IHG One Rewards in our overview article here.
You can buy points via this link. You only have a few days, until 21st October, to jump in.
