If you are planning a trip to Manchester next Spring, Travelzoo has an impressive deal at the 5-star The Lowry hotel.

You get a 1-night stay for two people in a River View room plus breakfast AND a 3-course dinner in the River Restaurant for just £185.

Good hotel deal at The Lowry in Manchester

The £185 rate is valid Sunday to Thursday until 31st May 2023. There is a £50 premium for a Friday or Saturday night stay.

You also get free parking if required, usually £19.50.

The booking process is a little fiddly. You need to order a voucher and only then email the hotel to request a booking. If they cannot take your booking (it isn’t clear if this would only happen if the hotel is full or if there are other criteria) then you can refund your voucher via your Travelzoo account. You don’t need to call anyone.

You can find out more on this page of Travelzoo.

I have a Platinum card issued in Austria and went to dine in London (CUT at 45 Park Lane) for my 50th and my daughter’s 8th birthday on Saturday and yesterday I already received the credit in my Amex account. Although my T & C state that to see the credit on my account can vary between minimum 5 and maximum 150(!!!) days. So I was already focused to see it in May 2023.:))

  • Clive says:

The expiry on my dining credit when looking online shows 31/12/24. Is this a glitch?

  • Amy says:

I don’t think I’ll be able to use my UK credit. Does anyone know if any Edinburgh restaurants sell gift cards in person that would count? Perhaps The Ivy or Gordon Ramsey?

  • Keith says:

The one in Glasgow sold physical gift cards last year so sure it will be the same in Edinburgh. I bought one at Ivy City Garden London last night and triggered email.

  • NFH says:

I bought a gift card yesterday from the Ivy in Canary Wharf. The card payment was processed locally by the restaurant and not by Giftpro. They can also sell gift cards for obscure precise amounts, useful because I had already partially used my £150 credit at Hawksmoor before it was removed from the offer.
