A hugely interesting benefit added to American Express Platinum cards last year was £300 per year of dining credit.

You receive:

  • £150 to spend across 150 or so UK restaurants
  • £150 to spend across 1,200 or so international restaurants

You can find out more about the benefits of American Express Platinum in this article.

Amex Platinum £300 dining credit map

There is no minimum spend – free really means free. If you spend under £150, the balance is carried over to be used on another meal during the year. Your credit resets on 1st January each year.

Before Christmas we shared links to some Google Maps put together by readers covering restaurants in London, Paris and Vienna. These were very useful because the Amex website for participating restaurants is not very helpful when it comes to finding where venues are.

Tim Rogers, who originally founded Reward Flight Finder before selling it, has built on these efforts to create maps covering all participating restaurants in Europe. You can filter by cuisine and Michelin star rating if you are keen on, or want to avoid, fine dining.
