If you’re looking for a low cost way to get to Dubai, Lufthansa’s Eurowings subsidiary is launching flights in November.
Flights will operate from Stuttgart and Berlin.

There will be two flights per week from Stuttgart (Thursday and Sunday) and, after a ramp up, four per week from Berlin (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday).
The snag is that Eurowings will use an A321neo aircraft. This is a single aisle aircraft. It does NOT come with flat bed seats in Business Class, so anyone with a premium ticket will have a British Airways-style ’empty middle seat’ Business Class experience for six hours.
Economy is a different matter. Fares will start at €199 each way and if you could get a promotional deal it could well be cheaper than a direct flight from the UK. Seats will also be available for Miles & More miles.
