Get £200 American Express cashback on a Relais & Chateaux hotel stay

American Express has launched a new offer with the Relais & Chateaux hotel group.

You will receive £200 cashback on a spend of £1,000+ by 20th October.

A lot of top independent hotels in the UK are part of Relais & Chateaux. The offer is valid across Europe and is especially strong in France. Some US hotels are also taking part.

Grantley Hall

Whilst you are asked to book via the Relais & Chateaux website, the offer is triggered by checkout spend.

This means that you could book via American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts (if you have The Platinum Card) for the extra benefits it brings – as long as you choose ‘pay on departure’. I would also strongly recommend asking our luxury hotel booking partner Emyr Thomas (click here) for a quote as he can usually get you extra benefits on your stay.

From the UK list, I would highlight:

…… but there are plenty more to choose from.

PS. I also have a ‘£100 back on £500 spend at The Peninsula or Mandarin Oriental’ and ‘£80 back on a £300 spend at Enterprise Rent-A-Car‘.

  • Lou says:

For cabin luggage, I heartily recommend CabinMax. Unless you’re flying BA, in which case it’s the Samsonite B-Lite 3 56cm Spinner all day long

    • Susan says:

Always amazed at the spinner love, those wheels take away so much packing space. Not an issue F on Qatar but definitely HBO BA.

      • Lou says:

I’m talking specifically about the B-Lite 3 56cm case. I can get 2 weeks worth of clothes in that case. In fact, I often use it as a hold luggage case too

    • Nick says:

Why do you heartily recommend them? Neither is in the sale

  • Adam says:

No R+C offer for me, but a great offer on Amex Travel – spend 300, get 100 back! Those were ok for cumulative spend in the past, right?

    • Rob says:

Someone else mentioned this but it seems to be very restricted so I kept it out.

      • dougzz99 says:

        I have it on Plat.

      • brian says:

Did anyone who received the recent Amex Travel offer also get out earlier in the year?

        • James C says:

Yes. I’ve had both although whilst I saved the one earlier in the year I was unable to use it.

    • SM says:

Have it on two of our plat cards.

    • Naomi says:

No R&C offer for me either… gutted as I really want to go to a hotel in that group anyway!

  • Charlie says:

No R&C for me either (Gold). Any idea what triggers these? I have used this offer in the past so wondering if that be why

    • NigelHamilton says:

I also haven’t got any of the above offers(plat). Haven’t used this one before but did use a £100 credit on SLH very recently. Perhaps there’s a limit on this type of offer. I’ve noticed other offers I’ve previously used not come back even when widely available (Hilton, LNER etc)

      • tony says:

Don’t think that’s it. I used the slh offer and got the R&C one as well. Presumably many variables going into the mix here…

Also got £100 off £500 at Peninsula hotels.

  • Alan Todd says:

Speaking of luggage I had been holding out for another Rimowa Amex offer, but they’ve had yet another price increase in the last few days..

  • Mikel says:

American tourister case I was interested in is £20 more expensive than it was in the prime sale

    • TooPoorToBeHere says:

Yup it’s always worth checking on camelcamelcamel whether an Amazon sale item is actually cheaper.

    • Andrew. says:

Always hard to find the exact match of luggage as the lines are often made for a specific retailer, but have you checked the actual American Tourister site for the luggage you are looking for?

There’s a close match to the 67cm hardside for £97.30 and a 10% code on the site today. Plus if you are a member of any employers staff discount there’s near permanent availability of a 20-30% discount.

Some of the best deals on American Tourister come courtesy of Rymans!

      https://www.ryman.co.uk/stationery/bags-luggage/american-tourister

      • jjoohhnn says:

Yep! I got an American Tourister Bon Air from Ryman back in March 22. It’s only £5 more expensive now (before any discount codes).

  • Ben says:

    I can’t find any Globe-Trotter on Amazon

  • Gordon says:

Re 2024 Avios peak and off peak dates, I found looking yesterday for redemption flights to SIN and NBO that Tuesdays were the new Wednesday….

    • Andrew says:

I wonder if BA are going to flip flop each year going forward – just to keep us on our toes ?!

  • Jonathan says:

Some of the luggage that’s supposedly on offer at Amazon is cheaper on eBay without any offers, plus Nectar (Avios) points !
