British Airways to launch flights from Billund to Dusseldorf

Yes, you read that right. British Airways will restart direct flights between Billund and Dusseldorf from 4th November.
There will be four flights per week between Monday and Friday.
The reason for the odd routing, of course, is that the operator is SUN-Air of Scandinavia. This is a British Airways franchise airline, operating BA-branded aircraft and crew and selling its flights via ba.com with BA flight numbers.
You earn Avios and tier points as usual and you can redeem Avios for these services.
SUN-AIR is slowly building back after the pandemic and is currently flying, in BA colours:
- Manchester to Billund
- London City to Billund
- Billund to Gothenburg
Direct flights from London City and Manchester to Gothenburg have not restarted, it seems, but are still shown on the route map.
Services are operated with a fleet of Dornier 328 jets with 32 seats.
Remember that Billund is the home of LEGO and has its own LEGOLAND, so it may be more relevant to your travel plans than you think. That said, I’m not sure than many HfP readers will be flying Billund to Dusseldorf.
