IHG put out an announcement this week bringing together a number of newly signed hotels across the UK.

Some of these are long term projects which may or may not ever see the light of day, so we’ll skip those. The following are definitely happening in the short term:

  • Hotel Indigo Gloucester The Forum – due to open later this year in the new The Forum development in the city centre
IHG adds some interesting new UK hotels
  • voco Salisbury – a modest 57 room hotel which is being rebranded from Milford Hall Hotel & Spa
  • voco Belfast – the Radisson Blu in Belfast is rebranding and becoming an IHG property under the voco brand. The switch will happen during the summer.
  • voco The Clifton Folkestone: – this is currently a Best Western but will be renovated before reopening. It is converted from Victorian townhouses and set adjacent to Folkestone Beach with uninterrupted English Channel views. It will open in the second half of the year.

We’ve already discussed the conversion of the two Hotel Brooklyn sites in Manchester and Leicester into voco hotels.

Meanwhile in Liverpool …..

It’s also worth a reminder that The Halyard Liverpool hotel is due to open on 5th March. This will be the first Vignette Collection hotel in the UK and one of the first globally.

Vignette is a more luxurious version of voco, equivalent to Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The Halyard is a new build hotel in the Ropewalks area. You can find out more on the IHG website here.

By total coincidence, the new Holiday Inn Express Liverpool Central is also due to open on 5th March. The details are here.
