The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport hotel has reopened its doors following the first phase of an £8 million refurbishment.

All 299 rooms have been renovated – see image above – and a new ‘open lobby’ introduced, where food is served (breakfast is available from 5.30am).

Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport reopens

The new and improved bedrooms feature high quality Egyptian cotton sheets, large flatscreen TVs, highspeed WiFi, bathtubs and double glazed windows for noise reduction. Every spacious room has a modern and calming colour palate for a peaceful night’s sleep and those who upgrade to Club Rooms can enjoy added comforts such as deluxe toiletries, a King-sized bed and ample working space.

The refurbishment is not yet complete. Work is on-going on a new Club Lounge and a stand-alone restaurant. Once these are open we will pop up to take a look.

Hoping the closures won’t effect the rest of the line after Acton heading to Park Royal as I need to get off at that station next week a couple of days.

    • Lady London says:

Hanger Lane (Central Line) is a very short walking distance to that Park Royal station.

      • tw33ty says:

Yeah, but I was looking at booking the doubletree at Ealing common, I’ll probably just end up booking the hi at Acton as I despise the cp at Hanger Lane

        • Alex says:

Nothing from TFL about the District being closed, so should be OK up to EC one way or another

        • Lady London says:

There’s also a Premier Inn right at Hanger Lane too now.

I wouldn’t have said there was much difference in a walk from Park Royal tube vs a walk from Hanget Lane, down to the Doubletree / Jury’s at Ealing Common. But Ealing Broadway station, which is also Central/Piccadilly Line and also now Elisabeth Line, is closer than both to walk or 3 stops on a very frequent bus.

Holiday Inn Express Park Royal at North Acton gets good reviews, very very near Central Line tube before the line splits.

  • HampshireHog says:

Oh to be able to check in at the West London Air Terminal and jump on a charabanc

The IC Chantilly seems a lovely place to stay if travelling from the UK by road. Cheap compared to Paris, accessible, a lovely area to explore when done with the sights of the city. I’d seek to drive to a nearby SNCF or RER station where the car can be parked safely. Not sure I’d want to stay there without a car as taxis and Ubers can be frightfully expensive in France, although oddly the fixed price from CDG into central Paris is quite good value in comparison to the usual tariffs.
