ENDS TONIGHT: ‘Best Bed At The Bridge’ via Hilton Honors is a great deal due to date change

You may remember that, a few weeks ago, I was sitting in a Hilton hotel bed built into the stands at Stamford Bridge, watching Chelsea FC Women.

Hilton Honors has been auctioning a similar package for the Chelsea FC Women vs Arsenal game in March.

Due to a last minute date change – to 7pm, on Friday 15th March – most bidders have had to withdraw. You could get a good deal if you jump in tonight, especially as the offer includes a night at 100 Queen’s Gate.

Confusingly, Hilton is saying that the game starts at 12.30pm. The Chelsea FC website says that it starts at 7pm which makes more sense.

You can bid to attend here.

What does ‘Best Bed At The Bridge’ get you?

This is what you get, for two people, if you bid for this experience over at the Hilton Experiences website.

You get a night at 100 Queen’s Gate, which is part of Hilton’s Curio Collection. It’s a smart boutique hotel just a few minutes from the South Kensington museums.

You can stay on EITHER Thursday 14th March (before the game) or Friday 15th, after the game.

After settling in to the hospitality suite (there were sofas too, just out of shot):

…. you get to head down to see both teams as they arrive at the ground, assuming you get the same day I had:

If you get the same timetable I had, there will be time for another quick drink in the suite, and then down to pitchside to see the players warming up:

When the game kicks off, you can grab a seat outside the box:

You will be allocated a 15 minute slot to watch the game from the bed, which is directly above the box:

(We were told to keep our shoes on, by the way!)

I recorded a short video which gives you a better idea of how it works which you can see in this LinkedIn post.

There was food provided in the box but I believe it will be different for the Hilton Honors redemption day in March, so I’m not showing any images. Hilton is promising a four course meal whilst we got a Hampton Inn-style late morning buffet breakfast.

After the match a couple of the Chelsea FC Women players came up to the suite for a chat. Here’s my 12-year old towering over Sjoeke Nüsken:

We all received bag of Hilton / Chelsea FC merchandise on the way out too.

You can bid for this experience

‘Best Bed At The Bridge’ returns for the game against Arsenal on Friday 15th March. This has changed from the original date of Sunday 17th March.

There are five packages up for auction, each for two people, with a minimum bid of just 100,000 Hilton Honors points. This includes one night in a South Kensington hotel, remember. Each package will include 15 minutes in the bed.

Because of the date change, there are currently only four bids for the five packages available. You could be successful by just bidding the minimum of 100,000 Hilton Honors points.

You can bid here. Bidding ends early tomorrow morning, so bid before heading to bed!

  • TGLoyalty says:

Though the hotel is 56k points on the Friday night or even better value only £174 for cash. Not sure Arsenal vs Chelsea ladies is worth £75 each even if you do get 15 mins to sit on a bed pitch side

  • tony says:

And at 12.30pm on a Friday – what’s the atmosphere going to be like?

  • C says:

    100k points? Wow. No thanks.

  • Novelty-Socks says:

Sorry but Hilton (and, TBH, HfP) have got this wrong. No way would you get a WSL game with that kind of kickoff time.

30 secs of Googling shows it’s been moved to 7pm on the Friday to accommodate the TV schedules.

(I follow Arsenal and they’ve had quite a few games shifted for TV over the last couple of years and it’s often irritating, but lunchtime on a Friday would be a new one!)

  • The Streets says:

It’s definitely a 7pm kick off as shown on the Arsenal website too

  • Meike Hokkenbaals says:

Its an overwhelming no from me!

  • Mutley says:

There was 1750 fans in the stadium against Everton, 4500 versus Brighton and 5000 fans v Citeh. This is for a team that won 4 WSL titles in a row. There’s enough space for several hotels worth of beds.

    • Ryan says:

And that was probably with tickets going for under £20!

      • Rob says:

Those games were not at Stamford Bridge, they were at the training ground. There were over 20,000 last month when I was there. Arsenal got 60,000 for a game last year.

But if you want to deliberately distort the facts to make a point ….

        • Brian says:

To be fair, quite a lot of the extra people at Stamford Bridge will be going as a way of experiencing the stadium, rather than the football, so the point (if one was being made) still stands.

        • Mutley says:

Chelsea’s training ground is at Cobham , the women play some games at Kings meadow capacity 6-7k depending on your source. Those were the attendance figures. They play very few games at Stamford bridge ( lots of discounted tickets)
against the likes of Spurs, Man Utd and Arsenal, mostly for Sky , so that the prawn sandwich brigade can enjoy corporate hospitality whilst wearing their half and half scarfs.. you get the idea.

          • TGLoyalty says:

Either way they’re going to see a game

Personally it’s too far and too much effort for me but I’ve been to local women’s football games as it’s local

so imagine some locals are more than happy to go along and support the women in a more friendly and relaxed environment vs men’s games.
