Get exclusive Jumeirah benefits via the improved ‘Passport to Luxury’ programme

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

‘Passport to Luxury’ is the ‘preferred partner’ programme for luxury travel agents which can get you additional benefits when you stay at any Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts property.

You are most likely to come across these in Dubai, although we reviewed Jumeirah Muscat Bay in Oman last year, middle image below.

The group is best known for the Burj Al Arab in Dubai which I reviewed here. European hotels include two in London and Jumeirah Port Soller in Mallorca, reviewed here, bottom image below.

Madinat Jumeirah

We are regular visitors to Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, image above, and we usually book ‘Passport to Luxury’ rates via Emyr Thomas, our luxury hotel booking partner.

Emyr is especially useful if you have special requests such as connecting rooms (which we normally take) as the company is notoriously bad at honouring these if you request them yourself. Emry will be on the phone to the hotel whilst you are on the plane ensuring that everything will be as you want it.

What do Jumeirah ‘Passport to Luxury’ rates offer?

As of yesterday, your booking comes with the following added benefits:

  • complimentary one-way transfer
  • early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability)
  • room upgrade on arrival (subject to availability)
  • $75 resort credit per stay ($100 credit per DAY at Burj Al Arab)
  • personalised welcome amenity and card
  • complimentary daily breakfast for two
  • complimentary Wi-Fi
  • enhanced guest recognition though VIP status at all guest experience touch points

Clearly some of these benefits are worth more than others, but you can’t argue about a free transfer, $75 resort credit and free breakfast.

Burj Al Arab guests will get their upgrade guaranteed at booking for Deluxe Marina and Deluxe Palm Suites.

There is no minimum stay requirement except for hotels in China, which require a three night minimum to receive the benefits above.

Jumeirah Muscat Bay Oman

You do NOT need to pay ‘Best Flexible Rate’ to get these benefits

Usually when we write about the ‘preferred partner’ programmes run by the big hotel groups, you are required to book Best Flexible Rate to qualify. This is fine for some people, but if you would otherwise book an Advanced Purchase Rate then you are paying more than necessary – although the maths often still works.

As of yesterday, Jumeirah is being more flexible.

You can receive the benefits above on all of the following rates:

  • Jumeirah Advance Purchase rate (bed & breakfast)
  • Jumeirah Semi-flexible rate (bed & breakfast)
  • Jumeirah Escapes (bed & breakfast and half board)
  • Jumeirah Flavours (half board)

Clearly, as these rates already include breakfast, you are losing one of the benefits of ‘Passport to Luxury’! You still benefit from a free transfer, resort credit and potential upgrade and check-in / check-out benefits.

Jumeirah Port Soller Mallorca

There’s one catch for Jumeirah One members

You can’t book Jumeirah One ‘member only’ rates and receive ‘Passport to Luxury’ benefits on top. This is a bit odd but there you go.

Emyr is now able to book ‘Jumeirah One’ member rates for you, which wasn’t possible before. It won’t be any cheaper than booking yourself online and you won’t get any extra benefits. HOWEVER …. if you have special requests such as connecting rooms you may want to let Emyr make your booking anyway and have him liaise with the hotel for you before you arrive. He books a lot of Jumeirah nights for HfP readers and his other clients and he has more clout with the resorts.

“As of yesterday, your booking comes with the following added benefits:”

I thought booking through Emyr, you get these benefits anyway! The only additional one’s I can make out is the complementary one way transfer, which I agree can be a saver.

And I guess the “enhanced guest recognition though VIP status at all guest experience touch points” is if you are a regular visitor to this brand.

    • Rob says:

You misread the line. I’m not saying that you didn’t get those benefits before Monday, I’m saying that the list has changed and this is the new list.

  • Swissy says:

Would this stack with the USD 200 that Jumeirah One members get at the moment ?

    • Rob says:

You can’t book a Jumeirah One member rate with these added benefits, so if it is linked to that then No. If it is separate then presumably yes.

    • Erico1875 says:

The $200 is only for suite bookings. Its a bit naughty as it is listed on the non suite rooms but in small print says only applicable to suite bookings

  • jj says:

It may be worth noting that, for those with a Platinum charge card, the Amex FHR programme offers similar benefits and is currently running an exclusive 4-for-3 offer on selected Jumeirah hotels.

  • Mark says:

Emyr has been helping me with some Dubai booking options during the past 48 hours. Timely replies and super helpful as always.

  • Rjn21 says:

The car transfer is only applicable to suite /villa bookings according to the Al Naseem Dubai property.
