New British Airways amenity kits rolling out in Business Class

Very quietly, with no fanfare whatsoever, British Airways has decided to roll out a new Club World amenity kit.

The new bag is evolution rather than revolution, and continues to be made in partnership with The White Company and features The White Company toiletries.

The kits are a new rectangular shape and come in white faux leather. If they look familiar, that’s because they’re virtually identical to the BA100 kits that BA offered for a short time as part of its centenary celebrations in 2019.

BA tells us that the new kits are available on “selected” North American routes and will be rolled out more widely over the coming months.

The contents are largely identical but with a few tweaks. The pen has gone, whilst the plastic toothbrush has been replaced by a bamboo one. The earplugs come wrapped in paper rather than plastic. The other items are the same including toiletries, an eye mask and socks.

The pen is not a huge loss. Most countries, including the USA, have now ditched customs declarations or moved digital, so there is little use for a cheap ballpoint pen. The bamboo toothbrush and paper wrapping clearly burnish BA’s sustainability credentials.

Just looked on eBay to see Qatar Airways amenity kits for sale. Can’t say I’m that impressed to be honest.

    • Voldemort says:

      Why?

      • Catalan says:

They contained the requisite toothbrush, socks, ear plugs and miniature bottles of cream(s) as with most other airlines. With all the hype surrounding Qatar I was expecting a lot more.

        • Rob says:

I don’t think you understand the pricing of what is there. Diptyque EDT is £95 for 50ml, so the 10ml EDT is £19 at UK retail pricing alone.

  • Greenpen says:

Monica Galetti would not progress beyond the first heat of the programme she judges! Mere is a restaurant with good service but dull food which I suspect is prepared somewhere else.

A request to have the gravy/sauce/jus that was served with lamb was met with astonishment; impossible to do! Not an answer I would want to hear in an expensive restaurant. SQ beware!

  • Hilda M says:

Would be good if the New BAH could loosen the restriction on UK registered account only for Double Tier Points.

  • PH says:

Flying into Pittsburgh late last year, I had to fill in a paper customs declaration – but I appreciate this is an edge case, and it was the only CW flight where I opened the amenity kit for some time

    • ADS says:

I added a pen to my packing list after a trip to Cuba (via Canada) a few years ago when I didn’t have one … and had to borrow one from the guy beside me …

Can’t remember if it was Canada or Cuba which required hand written forms

  • ADS says:

“We could speculate all day about why this was done”

what about the potential for BAH / AviosHolidays to start selling flights on other airlines in their package holidays?!

    • LD27 says:

      Aer Lingus Holidays may be?!

    • Paul says:

I thin they will need a license for each EU member with different rules for each so I suspect this will be to streamline hotel and car hire and excursion contracting and get a larger buying position.
