REGISTER NOW: Hilton launches its new bonus points promotion for May to August stays

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Hilton Honors has just launched its new Spring and Summer promotion which is now open for registration – click here.

To give Hilton credit, it is very straightforward with minimal small print:

  • you will earn double Hilton Honors base points for every stay between 2nd May and 2nd September
  • that’s it!

There is NO ‘starting with your second stay’ rule.  You get double points from your first stay during the promotional period.

The bonus will trigger on reward stays for ‘in hotel’ spending.

What is your return here?

For most brands, you will earn 10 base points per $1 spent, plus an additional 10 promotional points plus any status bonus.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your pre-tax spending here.  20 points per $1 is an 8% rebate and that is before you add in any status bonus. A Diamond would be getting 12% back.

There is no small print

There is no small print except that you need to register in advance via the Hilton website:

  • there is no minimum stay requirement
  • existing bookings still count
  • there is no cap on the bonus points you can earn
  • all Hilton brands (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part
Hilton double points promotion

Don’t forget the American Express cashback offer

This offer will double up with the current American Express cashback offer, if you are targetted.

You will receive £50 cashback when you spend £200 on your American Express card with Hilton by 1st July. Spend can be cumulative.

There are a huge number of UK hotels taking part along with many in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

There is a PDF here showing which hotels are taking part.

Existing bookings will qualify for the £50 Amex cashback as long as they are not already pre-paid. There is no need to rebook anything.

Conclusion

Hilton’s new ‘double base points’ is a decent offer, especially for people doing longer, more expensive stays.

You should make sure you register if you have any Hilton stays coming up in the next four months.

Even without Hilton Honors status, you will be earning 20 points (which I value at 6.6p) per $1.  This is an 8% rebate on your spending.  Anyone with Hilton status will do even better.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 2nd September.

You can sign up for the double points offer here.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here.

You can apply for either card here.

    nice..

  • Youngtraveller says:

Works perfectly for me staying in one may 1-4.

  • Scandinavian Traveler says:

I unfortunately have a prepaid booking from 2-5 May. It seems from the article that this will not be eligible for the double points promotion and I assume not for the current promotion either?

    • TGLoyalty says:

Where does it say it wouldn’t be eligible?

All existing bookings count and you’re staying after May 2nd

      • Scandinavian Traveler says:

The article explicitly states that “Existing bookings are fine as long as they are not already pre-paid.”.

  • squawk7700 says:

    *£65!

    • NicktheGreek says:

I had one once at the Marriott Renaissance – Spend £200 at Marriott Properties, get £75 back. Room was £130, spent £73 on room service (according to the signed receipt upon delivery). Some days later, full bill hits my account at £196 total… Had to stop off for a pint at a nearby Marriott property in Manchester to grab a pint to tick over the £200 and was duly credited 2 days later. In effect I was paid £70 for grabbing a pint. If only all work was so rewarding…

Rhys had similar last year with Hilton, had to pop down to the Canopy for a coffee.

  • Blenz101 says:

Registered fine here. Although prefer the per stay type bonus personally but get I had it good in the first quarter.

  • krys_k says:

    Interesting proposition.

Am Gold via Platinum for many years. Noting that there is a Hilton status match to Diamond (I’m Marriott Titanium).

If I were to open new account and go for status match, could I then combine accounts ie my previous Gold and status match Diamond into one?

    Thanks.

    • Rob says:

There was (probably still is) a menu option on the Hilton site to combine accounts. If you can find it, you’ll be fine.

    • Scandinavian Traveler says:

Should not be necessary. Spoke to Hilton on the phone last week and the agent told me that I could apply a fast track to Diamond despite being Gold through the Platinum card. I was Diamond for a few years but was downgraded a few weeks ago and when I mentioned that, the agent told me about the fast track offer. You just have to call Hilton and ask. I believe that it required 18 nights in 90 days to be upgraded to Diamond though.

      • krys_k says:

Great feedback. Thank you. Did you call the standard Hilton number or is the special one for the upgrade programme?

        • Scandinavian Traveler says:

I spoke to them in connection with my price match guarantee claim, where I requested a call back on the Hilton website. I am sure they can redirect you to the correct team if you request a call back with the wrong reason, but if you request a call back on the website (scroll to the bottom of the Hilton website) there is an option to select “Ask about Hilton Honors account”.

  • Dubious says:

I believe there is also a promotion for first time users of the digital room key.
    500 points for first use.

    • Jey says:

I’ve been a long time user of the Digital Key, and I’ve received 500 points every stay since that promotion started.

  • NorthernLass says:

Well I’ve made it through the captcha requiring me to identify bikes x 2, and the emailed security code, how attractive are these offers to hackers, exactly?!

    • Delbert says:

I’m all for IT security, but I don’t think a lot of companies understand that CAPTCHA is one way to really pee off your customers. There must be another way.

    • TGLoyalty says:

Because you’re actually logging into your account to register rather than what Hyatt do which is just ask you to put in your membership number

      • NorthernLass says:

But I don’t get any of this when just logging in normally!
