Marriott Bonvoy launches its annual British Grand Prix points auctions

Marriott Moments, the ‘experiences’ platform for Marriott Bonvoy, has a partnership with the Mercedes – AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 team. This means that exciting redemption opportunities are available for all F1 events.

To be honest, these tend to go for silly numbers of points so don’t set your heart on winning any of them. Savvy redeemers look abroad to the packages offered for some of the more obscure European races where bargains can be had.

This looks interesting. For a paltry 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy points (which I’d value at £75) you get:

• Grandstand tickets for Practice Day at Silverstone on Friday 5 July 2024 including:
  • Marriott Bonvoy Gift Pack
  • One dedicated group host for the duration of the day
• Round-trip transportation between the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel in London and circuit
• Access for two people (must be 6 years or older to attend)

The inclusion of free transport to/from Central London is a great perk here. There are, as of last night, four of these packages available at 15,000 points per package.

How to earn Marriott Bonvoy points and status from UK credit cards (December 2024)

There are various ways of earning Marriott Bonvoy points from UK credit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

The official Marriott Bonvoy American Express card comes with 20,000 points for signing up, 2 points for every £1 you spend and 15 elite night credits per year.
