New American Express cashback offers for Heathrow Express and Esso

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

American Express has launched a cashback deal with Heathrow Express. This may or may not show on any of your cards and you will need to opt-in to register under the ‘Offers’ tab.

You will receive 10% or 15% back (it varies by cardholder) on ANY transaction until 13th September. You can only earn the bonus once per card.

The Heathrow Express booking page is here.

Remember that you can earn 5 Avios per £1 spent on Heathrow Express tickets if you use the heathrowexpress.com/avios landing page.  This is more attractive than the standard rewards offer of 1 Heathrow Rewards point per £1 spent but you can only buy full fare tickets there.

An Amex offer of £5 off a £50 Esso spend has also appeared. This is valid to 15th July and can only be used once per registered card.

Remember that you can:

The price gap between supermarket petrol and branded petrol has narrowed. Since Asda and Morrisons were taken over and decided to stop using petrol as a loss leader, all supermarkets have increased their fuel prices. Even readers who usually avoided Esso due to cost should come out on top with £5 cashback.

It is also worth checking the Nectar app for any opt-in Nectar bonuses before visiting Esso. Any bonuses will be under the ‘Partner Offers’ section.

Was planning a trip to Berlin end of the year, is it worth staying at the Regent before it closes but I heard the rooms are outdated? Would the IC be better? Don’t want to miss out on being able to stay there once or not worth it?

    • DJ says:

I love the IC near the zoo. Great ambassador status recognition too, had a few double upgrades.

    • WelshMode says:

IC recently refurbished rooms, it’s nice.

      • LittleNick says:

The IC it will be then, thanks

        • Gordon says:

I recommend using the tour bus for all the sites, hop on hop off.

        • mvcvz says:

I stayed at the IC for a couple of nights last summer. It was very pleasant.

  • Don says:

We had a great stay in The Regent. I wouldn’t write it off at all. On points and managed to book the Presidential Suite. Very lucky.

  • Bernard says:

    Heathrow Express offer is laughable.
Unless Paddington is your destination then Lizzy line end-to-end is for many people both quicker and considerably cheaper.
Heathrow Express needs to be £10 walk up to be competitive. But then Amex UK is farcically uncompetitive now too – high membership fees, no PP dinning credits and in many cases no lounge access/PP and exorbitant fees on BA 241s. Maybe it’s a good partner for hex…
PS use contactless Amex on Liz line and earn points on that spending instead .

  • RH says:

I just added the Esso offer on my Platinum card – thanks Rob
