Hilton Honors has just launched its new Autumn 2024 promotion, Power Upwhich is now open for registration – click here.

To give Hilton credit, it is very straightforward with minimal small print:

  • you will earn 2,500 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay completed between 3rd September and 31st December 2024
  • that’s it!

There is no cap to what you can earn and there are no minimum stay requirements.

The bonus will trigger on reward stays too.

What is your return here?

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your spending here.

For someone who only does one night stays, you would be earning 2,500 bonus points per nightI would value that at £8.33 which is a decent result especially as it doesn’t include your base points or any status bonus.

Of course, if your only Hilton stays during the four months are five nights long, you are not doing too well.  Your bonus will average 500 points per night (2,500/5) which I’d value at £1.66 per night.

There is no small print

There is no small print except that you need to register in advance via this page of the Hilton website:

  • there is no minimum stay requirement
  • existing bookings still count
  • all Hilton Family properties (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part

Conclusion

2,500 bonus points per stay is a decent offer for someone who tends to do short stays.

If your hotel stays are generally just for one or two nights at lower cost brands then you may want to consider moving them to Hilton over the next few months.

Make sure you register here if you have any Hilton stays coming up over the next four months.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 31st December.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (October 2024)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here. You can apply for either card here.

Hilton 25 Credit Card Fees % on Australian Booking + Amex 3% FX Fee: Best option?
Just booking 2 nights in Australia for early September. (I didn’t get the Amex £50 Hilton cash back).
Australian bookings add 2% Credit Card, then the additional 3% Amex transaction fee for Aus$. If I pay the direct Hilton rate in what they show in GBP, does that still mean I am still paying in AUS$ and will get the 2% + 3% CC fees?
I have the 10% Expedia Amex cash back offer and can pay in GBP, but they add their own FX fee, but does it save the 2% CC fee?
I assume if I book via Amex travel, I lose the Gold benefits, but may avoid the fees? And both Expedia or Amex `travel I don’t get the points bonuses.
(I have Hilton Gold so Breakfast has its value for direct Hilton booking + 2 x points, + 2,500 promo).

  • Mike W says:

Think I’ve become quiet lucky with Hilton Honor promotions and this one adds to it. I often stay at Hilton hotels for work but I think from the 3rd September I’ll just make separate bookings for each night to get the extra 2500 points for each night.

I also get the elite status bonus which doubles my base points but also have a “Guest Gratitude Promotion” which ends at the end of April 25 which also doubles my base points.

So let’s say for 1 night I earn 2000 base points. I’ll earn another 2000 for elite status, another 2000 for gratitude and another 2500 for this new promotion. Giving me 8,500 points (£28.05 value) for each 1 night stay which is not bad at all.

    • DW says:

I think you might need to switch hotels each night to get the points btw

      • BJ says:

Yes, consecutive bookings of one night stays on a multiple night stay only attracts a single 2500 bonus because Hilton blends the consecutive bookings as @Peter explained above.

    • TGLoyalty says:

It’s always interesting reading an idea like this from a newer member but yup they’ve already thought about that and beat yo to making sure it doesn’t happen.

As BJ says they’ll all be one stay. You need to actively switch property to get bonus for each night.

Now where it gets interesting is when you have dual brand buildings but I don’t think Hilton actually has any where IHG and Marriott do

      • Axel says:

Kuala lumpur had two doubletrees, when they opened one hotel had redemptions for 5k the other 6k though they were mirrors of each other. Ih Yo-yo’d between the two for a week.

      • BJ says:

To give them credit at lrast they’re thinking and ultimately should be good players. The frustrating ones are those lije that guy on the show once with Rob who sprnt thousands buying avios with no game plan then sought help thrn to all appearances did not take seriously or trustingly the help Rob offered.

Way back then when Accor used to give thousands for staying 2 or 3 times but only required one night stays as opposed to the 2 night stays they require now my partner and I used to have a field day booking £15-17/night rooms at several Ibis hotels in Bangkok 🙂

Hilton have some newer sites with adjacent or nearby hotels, the most common being Hamptons and HGI. For example Munich if I’m not mistaken.

        • TGLoyalty says:

There you go perfect except it’s Munich lol

But think fresh sheets every night. Bliss.

  • Ed says:

Every little counts I suppose but for a max saving of 8£ per night I don’t see many people making bookings because of this offer.

    • Rob says:

If you’ve got a choice between a Hampton and a HI Express for a £60 business stay then you’ll shift, and that’s what they want – although as you get nearer the end of the year people get a bit more concerned about elite night credits to retain status.

It’s not a ‘saving’ either for business stays, it’s effectively cash in your pocket.

      • Blenz101 says:

Day rooms in the UAE (and I assume other markets) can be had for as little as £20. They earn as though you stayed the night.

For someone looking to retain status in a low cost market this is a healthy rebate on top of the use of the room and hotel facilities for the day.

  • Brian says:

The registration link didn’t work for me using Firefox…just use Edge instead and it’s fine. Odd.
