Marriott Bonvoy has released a new batch of tickets for its box at The O2 arena in London.

If you’ve never been, this is a great way to see a concert – or at least it is about as good as you can get in the aircraft hangar that is The O2.

I finally got to visit the new suite – it moved during the pandemic – for an Elton John concert last year along with some HfP readers, and I can confirm that you are now nearer the stage than you were. The drinks and ‘comfort food’ hot buffet were also good.

The real value of the suite is the ability to wander in and out at will. Dull song comes along? There is no problem nipping out to the loo or crashing out on a sofa to check your emails!

Here are the new concerts you can book as a ‘buy it now’ redemption, plus a couple left over from the previous batch:

  • Cigarettes After Sex, 12th and 13th November – 30,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • keshi, 4th December – 20,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Peter Kay, 5th December – 50,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Jacob Collier, 9th December – 20,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Kygo, 11th December – 30,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Pete Tong, 14th December – 40,000 Bonvoy points for two
  • Culture Club, 15th December – 40,000 Bonvoy points for two

There are also a lot of Disney on Ice packages at varying prices.

Paul McCartney tickets are being auctioned. There are two shows on 18th and 19th December. The minimum bid for a pair of tickets is 50,000 Bonvoy points.

My wife and I saw Paul McCartney from the Marriott Bonvoy suite last time he played at The O2 in 2018. There is something a little spine-tingling about hearing Beatles numbers being played live with the original singer, and he was even joined on stage by Ringo Starr for a couple of numbers.

Two Slipknot events for 20th and 21st December and the R’n’B Christmas Ball for 21st December are also being auctioned. Again, the minimum bid is 50,000 points.

You can redeem your Marriott Bonvoy points on this page of the Marriott site.

  • Paul says:

Hi Rob, I notice that they are missing the Sam Fender dates. Do you think these are likely to get added? Thanks Paul

    • Rob says:

Probably not. Marriott also uses the box for private entertaining for some events.

  • chelseafifi says:

    Slipknot are also auction only.

    • Rob says:

Missed that, didn’t bother clicking through as I assumed it wouldn’t be. Will update. Thanks.

  • Chief says:

Does the Marriott Account holder have to attend the event? I think my wife and daughter would like the Disney on Ice but I would be the account holder doing the bidding.

    • Rob says:

No. A Marriott concierge will contact you before the event and you can give them the correct names at that point. As long as surnames match there is unlikely to be pushback.

  • James says:

What’s the chances of another Amex MR > Marriott transfer bonus?

  • George says:

“crashing out on a sofa to check your emails!”

    This makes me sad

    • babyg says:

Agreed… But don’t worry, half the audience will be filming it on their phone so youll be able to watch it online later…

    • Ken says:

      Me too.

I love live sport, music or theatre and nothing worse than being surrounded by people with no interest in it.

However checking emails is many rungs less annoying than people talking all the way through a gig.

      • RussellH says:

Or those seated next to you ‘singing’ along with the performers, out of tune.

        • Kevin C says:

We went to what turned out to be George Michael’s last ever concert at Earls Court. The woman behind us sang louder than George but wasn’t as good at it.

Was in the Bonvoy box a couple of weeks ago and the guy in front of us spent most of the gig on WhatsApp. I still like it there but it’s not the place for superfans. Food was good.

          • babyg_wc says:

i was in the box a few weeks back too (crowded house)… same thing for me.. guy on WhatsApp (when he wasnt sleeping)… whilst these points things are awesome you sometimes find yourself surrounded by people who are just there for fee food and the gram.

          • George says:

“you sometimes find yourself surrounded by people who are just there for fee food”

The food isn’t actually “free” though

          • Rob says:

There’s a lot of logic in going to the 93rd, banking the £400 of F&B credit and ignoring the show if you can pay under 40,000 Avios. You’d be pushing your luck to justify the Marriott box on that basis!

More likely the guy was like I was when my wife decided we had to see Celine Dion a few years ago ….

I walked out of Justin Bieber and Depeche Mode after 10 minutes this year, since I’d only gone on a PR invite to photograph the Virgin and Qatar suites respectively. No queue for the tube if you do that!

  • Fazzy Bear says:

    Xmas Ball is also auction.

  • Ian says:

Is the suite any good for actually watch the concert?

Or are you a mile away?

Are you having to watch the screen around the artist, than the artist themselves?

Just trying to decide whether it’s worth the investment etc.

Also any tips on getting drink and food – or is this just a rip-off at the O2?

    • Rob says:

Everyone is a mile away at The O2. I have been there twice this year in non-suites (premium seats for the Brits, on the floor for The Killers) and both were worse for views due to being quite low. Remember I’m 6’2 so when I say standing is even worse, you can double that if you’re a shortie.

      • Ian says:

One of the concerts quoted we are in row 2 – I guess if we opt for another one we should expect to be listening to the music and that’s about it!

        Thanks for the information
