Save £150 on a £750 Etihad flight booking with American Express

Etihad has launched an interesting cashback offer with American Express.

If you are targetted for this offer via your online card statement page, and you opt in, you will receive £150 cashback when spending £750+ online with Etihad.

The deadline for making bookings is 28th February. There is no deadline on when you fly. The offer is limited to 20,000 registrations.

Get £150 cashback on £750 Etihad spend with American Express

Cumulative spend counts.

It is possible – but not certain – that ‘taxes and charges’ payments on Etihad Guest redemptions may also trigger the cashback.

As Etihad allows you to mix and match cash and miles whilst booking, you could use fewer miles and add some cash (assuming the taxes and charges are less than £750) to get to a £750 payment. Don’t hold me to this though because its possible that payment for reward tickets is taken via different route than payment for flights.

The offer is only valid on flights departing from the UK, which means London or Manchester.

You can see our review of Etihad’s Business Studio on the A380 here. I am a big fan of it, as well as Etihad’s onboard catering and new Armani/Casa bedding.

You can check prices and routes on the Etihad site here.

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards (February 2025)

Etihad Guest does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Etihad Guest miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Etihad Guest miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Etihad Guest mile.

The American Express Preferred Rewards Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it, not just with Etihad but with any airline.

I thought that they also flew from Edinburgh, has this now stopped?
That went without anyone here noticing if so…

      Stopped years ago

Perhaps I just got a bad flight but the catering LHR-AUH and back last month in J was poor. Worst of the ME 3 by some distance I’d say.

I did however get a better price by starting in Birmingham. I never used the train ticket but suspect this fare would also fall within the offer terms.

Makes it hard work being departing uk only if booking cash business class tickets. Etihad are way cheaper ex UK

If you did a Eurobonus status match, you earn SAS points on Ethihad too

Are people seeing this on Amex Platinum? I’ve got Amex BA Premium and Amex Marriott but not seeing it on either. I guess I need to wait to be targeted…

    • Rob says:

You’re not seeing on a BA Amex for obvious reasons, in the same way you’ll never see a hotel cashback deal on your Bonvoy Amex ….
