How does the Regent Seven Seas cruise partnership with Global Hotel Alliance work?

Global Hotel Alliance, the world’s largest alliance of independent hotels, has a slightly surprising partnership with luxury cruise company Regent Seven Seas.
(Note that Regent Seven Seas is no longer linked to the Regent hotel brand owned by IHG.)
If you are looking at cruises, and Regent is an option, it is worth knowing about as it could be quite lucrative.
Here’s what you get:
- any member of the GHA DISCOVERY loyalty scheme who books a Regent Seven Seas cruise will receive D$750 of points (D$2,500 for a Regent Suite)
- you receive top tier Titanium status in GHA DISCOVERY, giving benefits – including a two level upgrade – at GHA’s 800 member hotels
- you will get a gift of champagne and chocolates in your Regent Seven Seas room (no other GHA DISCOVERY elite benefits will apply)
What is a D$?
Discovery Dollars (D$) are the loyalty currency of Global Hotel Alliance. They can be redeemed for free hotel nights in any of GHA’s 800 members hotels.
1 D$ = US$1, so you would receive up to $2,500 of free hotel nights with this offer. Note that Discovery Dollars cannot be redeemed on Regent Seven Seas cruises and that Discovery Dollars from Regent Seven Seas have a 12 month expiry.
In a clever move, your D$ are credited as soon as the cancellation period for your cruise has passed. This means that they are available to spend if you need to book a hotel for the start or end of your cruise. Your GHA DISCOVERY Titanium upgrade will be processed as soon as your booking is made.
There is no requirement to book directly with Regent Seven Seas to get these benefits – travel agent bookings will receive them too.
You can learn more on this page of the GHA website.
As GHA DISCOVERY is free to join, there is no excuse for not signing up and collecting a generous pile of Discovery Dollars – and the extra in-room amenities – if you are planning a Regent Seven Seas cruise.
