Get 10,000 Clubcard points (20,000 Virgin Points) when you redeem on easyJet Holidays

Tesco Clubcard has become less and less useful for frequent flyers in recent years. The key blow was Avios defecting to Nectar, of course, but the scheme has also lost many of its other interesting partners including Hilton and Uber.

Virgin Flying Club remains a Tesco partner (100 Clubcard points = 200 Virgin Points) but that’s about it.

Back in December 2024, however, a new travel option appeared – easyJet Holidays.

A very generous carrot is currently being dangled to get you to try it.

Get 10,000 Tesco Clubcard points when you book with easyJet Holidays

easyJet Holidays follows the usual Tesco format. £1 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers gets you £2 to spend at easyJet Holidays.

This isn’t very exciting in itself, but the special deal is.

You will receive 10,000 Tesco Clubcard points if you part-pay for an easyJet Holiday with Clubcard points by 13th April.

The Clubcard points are worth £100 if spent in Tesco. HfP readers will probably prefer to use them for 20,000 Virgin Points or, of course, you could use them £200 off another easyJet Holiday.

The small print is here and looks trouble-free.

Importantly, there is no minimum spend for your easyJet Holiday. There is also no minimum duration and no minimum amount of Clubcard points you need to redeem. You are restricted to 1 x 10,000 Clubcard points bonus per person.

I don’t know what the cheapest short break is that can be booked via easyJet Holidays but I’m sure more creative HfP readers could find something.

The only snag is that you will need to have at least 500 Tesco Clubcard points available to redeem for £10 of easyJet Holiday credit to trigger the bonus.

How do you book easyJet Holidays using Clubcard points?

Clubcard deals often force you to book uncompetitive rates in order to use your vouchers, but this is not the case here.

This is how it works (cut and pasted from the Tesco site here):

  • Your Clubcard vouchers are exchanged for ‘easyJet Holidays credit’, which is shown automatically in the ‘credit balance’ section of your easyJet Holidays account, called ‘Tesco Clubcard’ credit
Get 10,000 Tesco Clubcard points when you book with easyJet Holidays
  • Your easyJet Holidays account email address must match the one you use for your Tesco Clubcard account
  • Your easyJet Holidays credit is valid for six months from the date you exchange your Clubcard vouchers. Any unused credit will not be refunded, credited or exchanged, so only exchange the amount you need.
  • Within a 12 month period the maximum you can exchange is £300 in Clubcard vouchers (£600 easyJet Holidays credit). The 12 month period starts from the date you exchange your Clubcard vouchers for easyJet Holidays credit.
  • You cannot use your easyJet Holidays credit to book standalone easyJet flights
  • You must be one of the travel party on the holiday booking. You cannot share, combine or pool your easyJet Holidays account(s), or credit with other family members or friends.

This means, I think, that you can book any offer or promotion that easyJet Holidays is offering. The credit sitting in your easyJet Holidays account will be automatically used against the balance. The only restriction is that you cannot book via any cashback or reward site.

It isn’t clear if you can use Tesco Clubcard vouchers to pay the balance of an existing easyJet Holidays booking. The implication is that you cannot but this may not be the case in practice. In any event, the 10,000 Clubcard points bonus offer is only valid against new bookings.

The Tesco website has more details here.

Remember that, to receive the £100 of Tesco Clubcard points, you need to book your trip by 13th April and redeem at least £5 of Tesco Clubcard points towards the cost.

Promotion that combines the worst of two schemes – Clubcard points that are extremely difficult to earn in meaningful quantities and Virgin points that are now extremely difficult to burn on flights at meaningful value. The bridge being part-pay EasyJet Holidays with Clubcard points which many may be autoconverting to Virgin leaving them with few Clubcard points to use. I’ve no idea but would guess there are other routes to a discount on EasyJet Holidays that might be comparable to, or better than, part-paying with Clubcard points under this promotion. I’m not saying it’s a bad deal, just that the number of HfP readers I see it working for must be extremely small.

You can get a 2 night city break for 2 people for £500.
Use the code FEBSALE to reduce it to £450

And then get £100 in club card vouchers back which most people should be able to make £180 worth of value.

I’m not sure why the majority of readers would permanently auto convert to virgin.
Besides Virgin has nothing to do with this offer.

Sounds like a great deal to me but I’m all ears if you can suggest ‘better routes’

    • CJD says:

If I had a couple of city breaks lined up with easyJet then it’s a great promotion.

Break 1 – use Clubcard points for £10 off a booking I was going to make anyway.

Break 2 – convert 10,000 Clubcard points I got as a bonus to £200 of vouchers and bag a significant discount on next break.

    • BJ says:

I didn’t say it was a bad deal, just that I didn’t think it would be a good fit for many HfP readers. I think the small number of comments support my assertion. That said, I am persuaded of the value as explained by you guts and the article were I able to collect sufficient Clubcard points and another sale or stackable promotion came along by 13 April.

  • Tracey says:

Their homepage advertises city breaks starting from £149, so that’s the starting point.

    • Alan says:

Trouble they are likely 1 night with evening flight out and morning return!

      • NorthernLass says:

Into an airport 2 hours from the actual city!

  • Alan says:

The bit of this promo I’ve not bottomed out is if you make a booking with deposit. Once the promo points pay can you use those as part of final payment?

There are lots of September 3 nighters around £600 for a couple. Say you’ve already got £70 in club card points (yes I have) you could get a short break for cash under £300, sounds great value.

  • Alex W says:

Is it like BA Holidays where you can just tack on a car for 1 day, accidentally forget to collect it, then it still counts as a package holiday?

    • Richie says:

BAH changed the Ts & Cs for the forgetful.

      • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

Only for earning the TPs for the double TP promo. and then it’s for 5 nights anyway.

There are no penalties for not picking up a car or checking into a hotel.

Doing that doesn’t turn your package back into flight only.

  • krautboy says:

Any suggestions on how to rack up 500 Points fairly quickly? I.e. promotions or spent partners? I currently only have 84 points, as I auto converted my points to Virgin.

    • Rob says:

Not unless there is a bonus points promo on a specific product, and we’ve seen very very few of those in recent years.

I don’t know if you earn CC points on gift card purchases in Tesco? Uber, Amazon etc etc Historically you didn’t.

      • Jonathan says:

I can confirm that the route on picking up points via spend on gift cards is almost certainly dead for good.

I got sent an Amex offer of spend £70 in Tesco for a think it was a £5 statement credit, went into one, brought about £7 of food, then a JLP gift card to bring it over the £70 marker, I’ve literally just checked my Clubcard account, and I (unsurprisingly) got 7 cc points for the transaction, this was back in October / November

So in summary no cc points on gift cards, unless you’re using a Tesco credit card

        • MKCol says:

I had the same offer, bought a Netflix gift card & some groceries I needed anyway, the till receipt confirmed the gift card does not qualify for earning Clubcard points.

    • Jonathan says:

You can pay off your self assessment tax bill using the Tesco pre-pay debit card !

A little bit too early in the year, plus you wouldn’t get the points turned into a voucher on time before the cut off date, it’s about one the only option left (correct me if I’m wrong) on collecting points whilst paying any ssft

    • Ryan says:

Have a look in your Tesco Clubcard App. Normally something there such as 100 extra points on Finest Range or similar.

Also, on your receipt there is likely a questionnaire to complete which will offer you ‘X’ points if you partake.

  • callum says:

I’ve just gotten back from 4 days all-inclusive in Tunisia. Total price was £271 – with the £200 worth of Clubcard points and £27 cashback, the final price works out as £44. Can’t complain!
