      The rule on here is to make up two letter codes rather than use the IATA codes, even Rob does it. We had LO (Logan Polish Airlines) and AC (Aer Canada Club) in the recent article about Avios partners.

  The fact that the reviews on the voco hotel say recently that they no longer had an alcohol licence should have set alarm bells ringing.

  There’s two pathways to a Virgin holiday. You can search for flights and add a hotel, or search for a holiday. The price is often marginally different.

  The last time I went on a holiday with Virgin, I booked a Virgin Atlantic Flight & Hotel deal, powered by Virgin Holidays (and payment collected by Virgin Atlantic). At the time it triggered a 12% rebate at PAW compared to a 2% rebate or Virgin Holidays.

  Things may have changed, that was about 7 years ago.

  Not surprised about Voco Lythe Hill. Went to an event there last year and the food, service and wine were exceptionally bad. I think I haven’t drunk wine that bad at an event since I was a student.

      I was there last autumn for 1 night stay. Nice grounds and the rooms in the modern block were nicely appointed. Didn’t think breakfast was exceptional and the gym in particular had seen better days. Didn’t make it to the pool. Appreciate it’s difficult to conserve such an old building, but sitting in the restaurant area there were at least two cracked window panes that had fresh air (and flies) coming through.
