What are the best hotel promos for May 2025?

Welcome to our regular round-up of the best hotel promotions currently running.

(Quick summary: there aren’t any!)

All of the information in this article can also be found on our ‘Hotel Offers’ page which contains details of all of the current offers, together with links to our major articles on each hotel scheme.  However, a positive response from readers – especially our 20,000 email subscribers – means we run this monthly article as a handy summary.

However, we have a problem. For the first time, in all the years we have been doing this, none of the major chains is running a global promotion. Hilton’s new offer will not start until 1st June.

best hotel bonus point promotions

Why? No idea. Has everyone gone back to drawing the board in the face of a US travel slowdown? We will see. Hilton’s decision to leave a one month gap is almost as surprising as seeing how weak their June to mid August promo is.

In the meantime, we have still pushed this article out because it contains details of all of the American Express cashback deals currently running – and there are a LOT of them!

Current offers for buying hotel points

Here are the ‘buy points’ offers running at the moment:

Hilton Honors

Hilton Honors is offering a 100% bonus when you buy points by 29th May.  The annual purchase cap is increased to 240,000 points pre-bonus.

Where should you credit your stays for June 2025?

(Yes, June 2025, not May 2025, because there is nothing happening in May!)

Remember that, irrespective of the offers below, there is never a single ‘best’ offer.

Some offers require multiple stays to maximise the bonus, which you might not do. Some require stays to be a minimum number of nights before a bonus is earned.

You need to factor in any elite status you have, which will earn you additional status bonuses.

More importantly, you need to be able to use the points. There is no value in earning a large bonus in a scheme where you will never go on to earn enough points to get a free night.

Here is your only option announced so far:

Hilton (Hampton, Conrad, Waldorf-Astoria etc)

Hilton will be running a promotion called ‘Points Plus’ for stays from 1st June.

You can register here.  Our full article is here. It runs until 15th August.

You will earn a flat 1,000 bonus points on all stays, cash or reward, during the promotional period. We value these at £3.33. Note that it is per stay and not per night.

You need to register in advance of your first stay during the period via the Hilton website here.  Existing bookings count and all Hilton Honors hotels are taking part.

The Hilton booking page is here.

And finally ….

If you booking a luxury hotel, remember that we can offer you exclusive additional benefits at Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula and similar hotels.

Click here for details of our luxury hotel booking service in association with Bon Vivant / Virtuoso.  Feedback from readers who have used this service so far has been excellent and we have booked over £2 million of rooms so far.

    Good morning from QR839!

    Rob,
Current offers for buying hotel points – I have got 80% bonus offer buying point from IHG. You did not mention above. Is this targeted?

      OT, @ BJ

Chatted to the QR lounge staffs in BKK, they mentioned the plan of moving QR lounge to the S terminal is within next year (no exact timeframe as yet). So still a while before we can experience it, unfortunately.

Pleased to see the Bon Vivant/Emyr spend tracker updated finally. Was stuck on £1.7mn for ages….!

    • Vit says:

@BSI978 — OT, I never had the chance to thank you directly but it was much appreciated for the 2 x GoH award back in February. We and the families had a good time in Hyatt Regency Phuket. A bit of upgrade and lounge access. The stretching class by the pool in the morning was blissful.

      • BSI1978 says:

Glad you enjoyed, no sense in them going to waste. Apologies I didn’t have more to gift!
