Good ‘airport parking and hotel stay’ deals via little-known IHG link

Most people are aware that – if you need airport parking whilst you are on holiday – it is often cheaper to book a nearby hotel which offers a ‘free parking’ package and stay there the night before.  Companies such as Holiday Extras specialise in arranging these.

IHG, the Holiday Inn / Crowne Plaza group, also has a UK ‘Park, Stay & Go’ offer.  It does not always come up when you search local hotels from the main IHG website.  You can book via this dedicated link.

The offer covers pretty much every major airport – this is not a London-centric deal by any means.

Good 'airport parking and hotel stay' deals

As a test, I looked at Edinburgh Airport.  I was looking for a hotel stay for one night on Friday 18th July 2025 with up to eight days of car parking included.

The Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Airport (website here) was offering this deal.  The prices were:

  • Room-only for 20th June: £217, assuming you are an IHG One Rewards member
  • Room with eight days of parking: £294
  • Room with 15 days of parking: £344

The room-only rate is refundable for a fair comparison, because the parking deals are all refundable.

With the Holiday Inn Express 15 day package, your parking effectively costs you £8.50 per day over and above the standard cost of the hotel.

Some of these packages are also available via the main ihg.com website.  If you are specifically looking for hotels which offer parking packages, however, it is more convenient to check the ‘Park, Stay & Go’ site here.

Check how your car is stored before booking. Some hotels will leave your vehicle in their own car park, whilst others might have a deal with a nearby independent parking company to move your vehicle to their site and return it on the day you fly back.

PS.  It is also worth looking at JustPark and Your Parking Space for sneaky parking options near major airports, often on private drives or nearby office or hotel car parks

£344 is crazy pricing for 15 days. Even a taxi to and from one’s local airport is going to be considerably less than this. I’m guessing it’s to do with school holidays, as the same package in early Feb is coming in at £209.

The Royal Highland Show is on and it’s right by the airport.

OT if anyone is thinking of going, I notice the airport doubletree is still a great bargain on points that weekend, 80k or £1,080, 1.35p per point! The Hampton is pretty much the same.
