IHG Destined launches 3-4-2 and 4-4-3 deals at 120 of its upscale hotels

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

IHG, the group behind Kimpton, Regent, InterContinental etc, launched a new programme for luxury travel agents last year to encourage them to book for their clients.

‘IHG Destined’, as it is called, has now rolled out a substantial number of 3-4-2 and 4-4-3 deals. These are valid until 30th June 2026.

As usual, our booking partner Emyr Thomas (contact him here) can book these packages for you. You CANNOT book them on ihg.com.

IHG launches 3-4-2 and 4-4-3 via IHG Destined

What is IHG Destined?

IHG Destined is a special benefits plan which can only be accessed by invite-only luxury travel agents.

It covers selected Six Senses, Regent, InterContinental, Vignette, Kimpton and Hotel Indigo properties.

You can download a PDF with the full list here, albeit this list is from earlier in 2025.

What benefits do you get with IHG Destined?

All bookings will receive the following:

  • $100 hotel credit per stay (not valid against room rate)
  • full breakfast for two guests
  • room upgrade, subject to availability
  • welcome amenity
  • early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability

Is there a minimum stay requirement?

Some cheaper properties may have a minimum stay requirement, potentially two nights, but there is no list we can share. Many will give the benefits on a one-night stay.

What rate do you pay?

You pay the equivalent of the Best Flexible Rate showing on ihg.com. This means that you will be paying more than you would if you were happy to book a non-refundable rate, but even then the benefits should more than make up the difference.

You receive your IHG One Rewards points and night credit as usual.

How do you book?

You need to contact our luxury hotel booking partner, Emyr Thomas, by filling in the form on this page of HfP.

Emyr will come back to you to confirm the rate (which should match Best Flexible Rate), the extra benefits and any minimum stay requirement. ‘IHG Destined’ cancellation rules should match those for a Best Flexible Rate booking.

Remember that all IHG Destined bookings, even with a free night attached, come with:

  • $100 hotel credit per stay (not valid against room rate)
  • full breakfast for two guests
  • room upgrade, subject to availability
  • welcome amenity
  • early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability

You don’t pay Emyr. You pay at check-out as usual (except for any deposit which is required) which also means that you will trigger any American Express / IHG cashback offers which may be running when you stay. He will need to take a card number for guarantee purposes.

Unlike some luxury travel advisors, Emyr charges NO booking fees and NO amendment fees. You only pay the hotel.

You can download the PDF list of IHG Destined hotels here (early 2025 version). ‘Free night’ offers are only available at the hotels listed above.

You can contact Emyr here.

  • Boon says:

Are there blackout dates for the free night rates?

Searching for the IC Kaohsiung in Taiwan for new years eve dates (30 Dec to 2 Jan) with travel agents and it’s not showing the 3 for 2 rate, but it is available for other dates in Dec and Jan…

  • Hilda M says:

Surprised to see IC Park Lane on the 3 for 2 list – had been planning to use my Amb weekend cert there: could be a good 5 day stay.

I stayed at the IC Dubai Festival City and Marina earlier this year (both 3 for 2) – if you have a Club Access cert, would be very good value: both have good lounges, especially the FC.

    • Cheapskate Flyer says:

There’s a lot of promotional offers around for Park Lane these days, the high headline rates are there for the many who are willing to pay them but the hotel also needs the business of those who are willing to pay a premium over less luxury hotels but not quite the full asking price.

      • TGLoyalty says:

They badly need to refurb the ‘classic’ rooms while not tired they are so out of date compared to all the local competition Luxury or not

  • AnotherUser says:

Emyr was quite happy to do that for me via email when the rate dropped – an excellent service.

    • meta says:

How many times? If I book something 9 months in advance, I would usually do that at least five to six times if not more. I check all my bookings on a weekly basis. Maybe once or twice is fine, but I think it would be annoying to him and me. Plus the delay in getting response and having to write an email or call or message, it takes much less to do it on the app.

      • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

I’ve replied to your earlier comment on this,

      • Emyr Thomas says:

Once the IHG Destined rate code is attached to the booking you can check for cheaper rates and update the booking quite easily from your IHG account. I will be happy to amend for you if you see a cheaper rate is available as well.

  • captaindave says:

Have a 3 night stay planned for Amsterdam in early September ( just flights booked) Would the Kimpton de Witt be decent value on the 342 deal ? Is it a good location for a first time ( embarrasingly ! ) visitor ?

    • BlairWaldorfSalad says:

Yeah good location for any time visitor. It’s at the train station end of the main shopping drag.

      • meta says:

It’s not really a good location for the main sights. Most attractions and museums are good half an hour walk if not more. I also don’t rate that hotel very highly in terms of design and service.

        • captaindave says:

          Thanks for info both

        • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

I find it to be a very good location.

There are tram stop very close to the Hotel – 2 trams go to the Museumplein (for the Rijks and Van Gogh) and 2 take you close to the Anne Frank House.

A short 5 minute walk to Centraal Station or the Dam stops opens up additional routes .

    • Cheapskate Flyer says:

The Kimpton is the old Crowne Plaza, and personally I think the location is handy, everything is walkable. I prefer the IC Amstel though, it has a nice touch of class about it

    • memesweeper says:

      great hotel, perfect location

      • Rob says:

I think staying on a canal is better (eg Andaz if you want a chain option). There’s just something weird (for Amsterdam) about being in the Kimpton with all the traffic under your window when you could be looking out on a canal.

        • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

          ‘all the traffic’

Due to some road changes over the last couple of years there is now very little traffic on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal

          • Rob says:

That’s good news. The trams still go past though?

          • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

Yes but you can barely hear the clanging of the bell.

          • meta says:

But it’s the main through road, it’s not just trams. I think the area is not nice and quite dead. I’d not stay as a first timer.

          • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

Meta when was the last time you stayed there?

I think you must be confused about the hotels location as I simply don’t recognise any of the issues you apparently have with the de Witt. And it seems I’m not the only one.

As I’ve said recent changes have reduced the amount of traffic on the road outside the hotel which have been for the better.

The area around it certainly isn’t “dead” as there are plenty of bars and restaurants close to the hotel. As well as several other hotels on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal.

  • Grant C00per says:

Is it possible to do searches ourselves and then ask emyr to book it?
Would prefer not to waste someone else’s time doing searches that might not amount to anything

    • kpworldtravels says:

You can check the non-member fully flexible rate (best available rate) on the website and aly the 3-4-2 or 4-4-3 etc., to get an idea.

    • Boon says:

      This is what I do.
I have two online platforms that surfaces these travel agent rates, so I can see if they’re available for the property and dates, and also the price.

Then I contact my UK based travel agent (not Emyr) to book.

Not sure if I’m allowed to recommend services here? So erring on the side of caution.

      • BBbetter says:

Can you share the online platforms? Surely they wont be competing with this website?

    • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

      Yes.

Just do a search on the IHG website or app and look for the “non member best flexible rate” and adjusting the cost down by a 1/3rd which I found to replicate Emys rate very closely.

    • Emyr Thomas says:

      Hi Grant,
More than happy to check for all potential bookings, whether it ends up being confirmed or not – no need to worry about wasting my time (although it is appreciated!) as it’s part of the course.

  • JDB says:

Seeing a few Six Senses on the list, it will be interesting to see how the group fares following the very recent departure of Neil Jacobs. He was the one man who protected SS from being IHGed into declining standards, something NJ was obsessed with preserving. He really understands top level hospitality. Six Senses seems to sit rather uncomfortably in the IHG portfolio.

One of NJ’s new roles is as a strategic advisor to Capella which, although relatively new, operates at a far higher quality level than these IHG properties.

    • kpworldtravels says:

Six Senses is hit and miss. Some amazing properties and some very lacklustre properties.

      • JDB says:

Six Senses just shouldn’t be part of one of these big chains which are more focussed on trying to lower standards, don’t ensure compliance with supposed brand guidelines and simply have no concept of luxury properties. It’s been great for smaller operators who have capitalised on attracting those guests that have noticed.

    • Cheapskate Flyer says:

Costcutting and brand dilution is the name of the game for these hotel chains. It’s hard to know what each individual brand stands for

    • TGLoyalty says:

How do you think the London property will land?

      • Rob says:

It’s like Park Hyatt. Everyone saying that the location doesn’t matter if your property is great. Didn’t work well for Park Hyatt from what I can tell.

        • JDB says:

I know you don’t like Queensway Rob and I know it isn’t your preferred Queen’s Gate but the Six Senses location is a whole different kettle of fish to the PH, a brand I normally like.

The Whiteleys Six Senses is right next to Westbourne Grove and a short walk to Notting Hill with all their shops and restaurants, great restaurants in Queensway itself (now including the Park which is excellent) it’s incredibly well connected transport wise – road, tube, rail, short walk to Kensington Gardens and I walk to Knightsbridge or Sloane Square from there through the Park.

Apart from location, I don’t think the PH is quite right in its style – rather functional and sterile so very unremarkable. The Peninsula rather surprisingly doesn’t seem to have it quite right on that front either. The Six Senses is looking a whole lot more promising in its design and décor.

I think the bigger issue is whether London can actually support the raft of recent and forthcoming hotel openings at the top end with the pricing envisaged in their business plans.

          • Rob says:

Notting Hill has never attracted top hotels either! Let’s see though.

In truth, both of those hotels are loss leaders to sell the associated branded apartments. Any losses will be sustained at least as long as it takes to sell all those.

It’s interested to see Park Hyatt now openly advertising full buy-outs of the hotel for conferences or corporate groups, which isn’t something you often see publicly promoted in the London market.

        • Gordon says:

I ditched the Park Hyatt SGN for a possible stay in Q4, because it does not have a Club Lounge!

And the club room rates are not cheap! In fact the standard room rate and suite rates are not too far apart, but no club Lounge no deal.

          • JDB says:

Most Park Hyatts and other hotels aspiring to be at the higher levels don’t have lounges in (m)any of their properties. They take it that guests can afford to use better facilities to eat or drink and enjoy the location they are in rather than hanging around a ‘free’ lounge.

          • Gordon says:

I can afford to afford to use better facilities to eat or drink, and also enjoy the location, but the whole point of a Lounge is to enjoy a couple of aperitifs, and canapés before enjoying the better facilities, after all that is what a lounge is for isn’t it?

          • Gordon says:

P.S. Lounges are not free, as you have previously mentioned on a few occasions, we all end up paying for the supposedly free things in these properties one way or another.

          • JDB says:

Well, yes that’s why I put the word free in single inverted commas! Personally I find most lounges incredibly soulless, low ambiance places vs the outside world, although in HCMC I’m not so sure. I think that, irrespective of the lounge, you made a good choice giving the PH there a swerve. If you want a good hotel in HCMC with a really tip top lounge that isn’t at all like a lounge, go to the Reverie, a proper hotel.

          • Gordon says:

            Noted – Single inverted commas!

I always find a lounge is a good base to unwind and relax, and also a chatting travel, with willing fellow guests.

I am only in HCM for a couple of days, as I have visited before, and it’s not my top choice of city in Vietnam, it just suited my tour schedule as a starting point.
Appreciate the tip on the Reverie, I will take a look.

  • Rob says:

No (unless you are adding 2 days to a booking made under this promo).

  • Garethgerry says:

Rather than 544, would you go for 2 times 342
