To be honest the card design is a bit outdated anyway. Take the Chase (UK) debit card for example. The card information is at the back and the numbers are not “embossed” on the front – a practice that is useful only for older credit card imprinters that were introduced in 1959 and rarely used nowadays (when did you see one last?)
Cards like Chase UK, Starling, Curve, Monzo can snuggle together easily as they don’t have this ’embossed’ design, so yes, there are several reasons the amex gold plastic card makes you feel old…
