No avios required for the domestic connection on long haul. “Rip-off” really applies to RFS routes where you can be paying as much in avios and cash for the domestic leg as for the international, though.

@Tim-T is saying

a) he paid exactly the same surcharges pp on the 241 and Barclays bookings
b) he paid departure tax on the GLA-LHR legs of his journey on the 241 booking
c) he paid no departure tax on the GLA-LHR leg of the Barclaycard booking

Those 3 statements can’t all be right!
