Just as an update to this- I took the matter to CEDR after BA provided a final response letter refusing compensation. Provided detailed evidence of all my correspondence and my reboked flights on EVA that I sourced and paid for myself.
BA agreed and paid me the maximum amount of £10,000 (my total costs of rebooking on EVA were £10,200 but I’m happy to move on).
Well done, that’s a great result. Unfortunately BA probably relies on the fact that most people can’t or are reluctant to pony up £10k for a few months while it all gets sorted out.
