@tilly c, I was in a similar position with no proof of the reason for cancellation but I provided very detailed notes to CEDR to accompany my compensation claim about what we were told in respect of the delay and exactly when we were told it, e.g. the air con was broken so I made a record of the conversation with the cabin crew about taking off our jumpers and the captain announcing that it was 36C on board! BA folded as soon as this was put to them and we got our money.
