It can obviously be done as single bookings but whether they can all be on the same PNR (important if one person qualifies for free seating) is a different question.
If none of the group has status then no value in being on one booking.
Except if you have kids and are on one booking then BA seat you together free of charge. This is quite handy. Particularly with young kids.
And if you’re unlucky and there is a flight cancellation etc, life is much simpler if the system attempts to rebook you as one party.
