Hi all,
I have a pre-existing medical condition that is not covered by the plat insurance. My wife and I have a nationwide flexplus current account which also provides travel insurance- who will cover my condition with a small extra premium.
I am aware that double insurance can cause problems with insurers only paying out a share of any potential claim and leaving me liable to pay two excess payments.
At the end of the day, I would not wish to rely solely on the plat insurance due to my medical condition that they won’t cover.
If I would have to claim for a non medical reason (loss of luggage, missed departure etc) – is there any way around the issue other than deliberately not disclosing the second policy??
Can I “turn off” the plat insurance?
Thanks
Other wiser people can correct me, but I thought that the Platinum insurance specifies that it is always ‘Secondary’? [page 8: “Insurance benefits are secondary:…” etc.] This would mean that it is always ‘turned off’ if you have other insurance.
