I bought 200k (the max) and might use my partner’s household Avios account to do the same. Though frivolously dropping 3.4k on some points is not something I ever thought I’d do, the outsized value of partner rewards has been invaluable to us.
Which ones in particular? Qatar and Iberia?
We live in Australia at the moment so Qantas (cash prices are always crazily high) and Cathay Pacific.
We’ve booked a trip to explore more of Japan — our 4 flights in J via HKG and back via KUL with Cathay, Malaysian and JAL for 2 of us were about 200k Avios + minimal taxes, looking at £8k cash. £2k for all that business travel is a fair deal & excited to try JAL!
