If Qatar go that way too it’s game over!
That said, perhaps there will be some opportunities for BA to offer lower prices, more closely aligned to Qatar for Aus etc.Maybe there will be lower points fares on some of the New York/ Boston / Atlanta routes that often have 9 club seats available.
I think the potential loss of great value school holiday options are the biggest risk for me personally. Of course jumping to conclusions here.
If anything it will make routes going East more expensive, and those going to North America, where there are thousands of Y Avios seats available, the same cost or cheaper.
I’d be amazed if it benefits those currently high demand routes.
