@pbcold used Jetstar many times but only when there’s no better option. For ALD-DPS I would definitely fly direct if possible as DragonLady suggests. No real issues with them but they do enforce carryon limits rigidly. Sometimes later flights in the day are susceptible to delays (and no UK261 equivalent in Aus sadly). With paid luggage and seat selection the experience would be perfectly fine.
