I’m only bronze but will lose that on 8th March. I’m only 10 tier points short of retaining it.
If I can get a cheap flight from Birmingham and back same day between now and then, that gets me 10 points, it might be worth doing. I think it could still be less than paying for seat reservations for 2 just once.
That said, I’m not sure being able to reserve seats just a week ahead is worth the bother.
I see people talking about tier point runs for silver but not bronze.
Am I missing anything? Should I just lose the status ? I’m not likely to get it again in the next few years.
It depends how much value you would get out of the Bronze status. If you have a few OW trips planned it is undeniably handy to be able to select your seats a week before those with no status, and also the priority check in and boarding can be useful on busy flights.
I did MAN-LHR-MAN last year to get Silver and it was totally worth it. Domestic flight prices went silly not long after I booked that one, though, don;t know if they’ve settled down a bit now?
Thanks. I should have realised sooner and could perhaps have done something. So few options from Bhx and very little time to do it.
The flights I have booked are mostly in club suite so arguably it doesn’t matter whether we are sat together as we can’t chat anyway.
