Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club 130 TP needed – cheapest run??

I see there are some cheeky CE offers at the moment, so looking for cheap/quick way to Silver before the dreaded change (that, remember, members asked for 🤔). It seems you earn nothing at the back of the plane… Any ideas appreciated.

For simplicity, four CE shorthaul flights (160 oTP)

For hitting exactly, three CE shorthaul (120 oTP) and one ET in a higher fare bucket (10 oTP) – which will probably need to be booked by phone if the wonderful BA website can’t cope 🙂

I’ve seen domestic flights e.g. LHR-NCL return at £153 in CE recently.

A Google ‘fly anywhere’ search says Bucharest for 330 quid. Not convinced Silver is worth that as the money buys a few lounge passes if that’s your thing. Still, a weekend away in Bucharest would be nice.

I agree @masaccio – chasing status can be more of a goal than necessarily good value. But we fly quite a few times each year, and so lounge access, seat booking, baggage is worth a few £100s. £10k-15k in the new regime is a different proposition.

Will probably chase this year and then accept it’s unachieveable. Spend my Avios on Club with AMEX 241 or Barclays upgrade vouchers. Seems to be the sweet spot as far as I can see. Interesting to see all the “status match” offers from other airlines.
