I booked an Accor hotel on a flexible rate a few weeks ago, staying later this month. Checking today, the rate has now gone down (both the flexible and non-flexible rates).
Should I rebook at the lower rate, or do Accor adjust existing bookings when asked?
To add to the mix – I partially paid using points. If I cancel the booking, how quickly are the points recredited to my account, so I can make a new booking?
Quickest and easiest will be to rebook at the new rate, then cancel the original booking before any change or cancellation fees become due.
They usually return the points into your account quickly, like within 5-10 mins (most likely even shorter), refresh your account a few times and you will see the balance increase again.
For flexible booking, cancel and rebook is the best way to secure lower rates.
