Forums Hotel loyalty schemes World of Hyatt Advance Purchase bookings & Amex cashback offer

Am sure this has been asked before and the answer is “you should be OK” but here goes…

If I book an advance purchase rate on the Hyatt website at a qualifying hotel, will the Amex offer (£100 off £250 spend) work?

    Thanks

FWIW, it has worked so far for Marriott and Hilton. But can take time to get credited.
I’ll leave it to others for Hyatt.

It worked for me at Schloss Roxburghe x 2 earlier this year. I had to chase up one of the credits, but that was an issue with Amex. I’m planning to use the current offer to book a couple of nights at one of the resorts in Lanzarote, so I’ll report back on that.

Thanks both. It’s for a London stay next week but the advance purchase price just about pushes it into budget. I’ll report back also assuming I go ahead and book…

I’ve just tentatively booked one night AI at Dreams Lanzarote for next October, if the cash back posts, I’ll book a 2nd night on my supp card!

The charge has just landed as pending on my AMEX and it’s down as the name of the hotel – so fingers crossed!

I’m having a right palaver with my booking. Booked what seemed to be a pre-paid rate, then got an email from the resort asking for 15% deposit! Explained that I need to pay the whole amount and they’ve sent a payment link. I don’t know if this will trigger the cash back or not!

Also, I can’t find a recent IHG thread, but 3 separate bookings in Scotland, Newcastle and Manchester have triggered the £75 cash back within 48 hours!

Just had the email in from Amex to say the rebate has tracked. Better still, it’s at Stratford so I’ve got an extra tenner back on the Westfield deal, too! (And some consolation for staying in Stratford…)

Has anyone tried this with a prepaid booking through Emyr?

@traniumtravels I was going to try but if the rate is high and you have offer on multiple cards — you cannot split the payment as Emyr will take one card for all / full booking. I ended up booking standard refundable rate which eat up a bit of saving but that means I can ask the hotel to charge my card(s).

@TherealSwissTony Thank for the data. I asked the hotel to take the payment on multiple card and similarly the hotel name and address is now shown on my card but not received any email from Amex. It is FX so take a while to clear etc. Fingers crossed and will report back.

Bit more feedback on the Hyatt Place in Stratford. The cheapest room showing (£153 a night) failed to complete in the booking, so I was offered one for £157 a night. Transpired this was a “suite” with a separate living room/kitchen then the bedroom next door. Great value for money!

Also, from leaving my room to getting off the tube at Monument took around 20 minutes (including 1 change of tube), so if you have business in the City but the local hotels are just too punchy, I’d definitely recommend giving Stratford a look. Elizabeth line giving even faster travel times depending where you are headed.
