Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Alaska Airlines and OW tier level

  • 4 posts

    Good afternoon to all.
I am currently a Silver BAEC member.
Am I correct that this is equivalent to One World’s Sapphire Level?
And if so, that would make me a MVP Gold on Alaska?
If correct again, how on earth do I book a flight with Alaska that indicates those levels?
I have tried being logged on BA and it just says no flights found.

    Many thanks

You book the flight with Alaska and, when it asks you for your frequent flyer information, you select British Airways and add your BAEC number.

    Thanks very much.
Will the Alaska website then instantly recognise me as a MVP Gold?

You will never be MVP Gold with AS. Your status is with BA and this gets translated to a OW status.

Thank you. I have looked at that benefits page and know that my status is with BA but just wanted to fully understand the OW Status and how to book.
If I wanted to use AVIOS to book the flights, as the BA page doesn’t even find any flights, then is a phone call the only way.
Baggage fees in the states seems mad.

In order to use avios to book AS flights there needs to be partner award availability opened up by AS otherwise you’ll need to pay cash.
Baggage fees are waived on AS for Oneworld Sapphire if that status at time of travel 🙂
