Discuss today's stories:
I am looking to cancel my BAPP card as I don’t use it much.
– Will I lose the BA companion voucher if I cancel the card. I have other active Amex cards – Amex Rewards (Blue card) and Gold Card?
– Will I get the pro-rata refund of the annual card fee? OR, have Amex removed this provision of fee refund?
– My first preference would be downgrade to free BA card. I did check multiple times earlier this year if I can downgrade to free BA card, but was told that downgrade option is not available for my card. I will however check again this time. Anyone had similar experience – denied downgrade earlier but was able to downgrade a few months later.
Once the voucher is in your BAC account it won’t be taken away.
If they refuse to downgrade you over the phone, simply go on line and apply for the free card.
But you will need an amex card to make the booking. So make sure you have access to one as Mastercard and visa won’t work.
Apologies for jumping on this post, but its a similar enquiry.
If my wife cancels her BA Amex card, she downgraded from the Premium last year as was told would lose her voucher, how long before I can invite her to get a PP card to get a referral and sign on bonuses?
Thanks

Your referral bonus and your wife’s sign up bonus are completely separate. If you refer her today and *if* she’s accepted you’ll get the bonus, no time bar on this aspect.
The sign-up bonus for your wife is governed by the eligibility rules for the particular card she applies for, for BAPP this is that she mustn’t have held an Avios-earning card in previous 24 months.
And in case you’re not aware, she won’t be successful in applying for a BAPP while she holds the free BA card, it’s one or the other.

That was my question, so from what been replied above, if she cancels her BA card today its 24 months before i can refer/she apply for a BAPP.
Thanks
