Yes have used NCL offers previously to prepay gratuities, book excursions, upgrade drinks package etc and all tracked with no issues.

Absolutely gutted not to have this on my gold card. Have got just over £1k balance to pay by mid August, and really hoping an offer would come round.

So the Expedia 10% off via the Amex link is a complete con yet again.

Comparing the identical property for the same date and room type –

£137 for 2 nights for a suite, plus £4/night for breakfast via Expedia home page, then via the link it’s £163 + £9. How on earth do they justify the more than doubling of the breakfast rate too.

And not only that, the room I really want is available via Expedia’s home page but via the Amex link it’s sold out.

    Sharks!!!

I shall book via another route that doesn’t involve an Expedia brand website.

I had a variation on a theme with that. Property was showing the smallest room category sold out on the direct expedia site, but available on the AMEX one. The next largest room (which we needed) was the same price on both sites, but it was cheaper without any code on Hotels.com just to make the whole thing even more odd…

10% AMEX Dining offer back today… with the usual great AMEX IT keeping pace; the link to venues states “new offer back on 2 Jan”, and the email confirming enrollment notes the end date of 19 Nov 2023.

Is it really that hard to set this up so it all comes into effect at the same time? (*Comment: it’s not!)

But hey, 10% is 10%, so I shouldn’t complain too much (once I can actually see the venues)

Can anyone confirm that the end date was actually 31st May 2024? I have a transaction from March which has still to post and advised that payment could take up to 90 days after the end date.

    TIA

Has anyone ascertained reasons why one might be ‘banned’ from receiving offers? My offerings have progressively become worse, and currently I am receiving no offers as the main cardholder on The Platinum Card, but interestingly my supplementary card holder is receiving them

No one outside Amex knows how the algo works, so all we can do is guess. The most popular guess is the obvious one – if you have spent money at a merchant, you may not get offers from same merchant in the future.
My 2p: if its a new card, put a variety of spend on the card in the initial months. I found this leading to offers added quickly, though not necessarily the merchants i would usually spend. If its an old card, move spends between cards. Use the gold card for a few months, then use BAPP for a few months…

I had this 6-7 years ago and after four months if no offers I made a complaint. It’s a technical glitch on some accounts. Amex were aware of it. I got a very substantial compensation. Mind you this was at the time when Amex CS was still trained to do their job properly.

    Viator just popped up:

MR card – spend £200 get £30 back two times
BA basic card – get 15% back up to £25

    Wierd that they’re so different.

@davefl Just cancelled a rebooked a tour, hopefully 12% BLC discount and £25 back from Amex will stack. Makes the Luau insanely expensive instead of ludicrously expensive.

Random one! I’ve got an offer for £250 off £1500 with Virgin and I’ve also got some Virgin flights already booked for end October..
Anybody know if I cancel these, immediately put the rewards flights on hold for 72 hours again and then ring up to book them again, I would get the £250 back as per the offer? Seems a relatively small amount of time spent to do this for the £250 gain!!
    Thanks

    Well done @Strickers and @kcg

Very wierd one from Avis popped up on my MR card – Note the “future communications” bit.

Save to Card to get a 25% statement credit when you spend any amount on a GBP transaction online at Avis when you book, rent and pay by 30/9/2024. Valid every time up to £50 for the first 25,000 Cardmembers to save. Terms, locations, payment restrictions and future communications about this offer will apply.

So to get this you have to go via a special link. If I do, the pre-pay rate is over £120 cheaper than the pre-pay rate via the BA microsite. Plus I get £50 back… no brainer. Cancellation policy is free up to 48 hours before

@davefl Just tried for a booking at the end of September but keep getting an error. Looks like I’m sticking with my flexible booking, it would have save me £30.

From my experience, you don’t actually need to use the link – I stacked it with TCB link to get 8% + £50 + Amex Plat discount using the AWD
