Thought I’ll set up a thread to highlight or talk about recent offers.

    FT – spend £30, get £25 back.

Using this link can bring the cost further down.

If you follow the FT link on amex there is a intro offer £50 for three months of the physical paper 6 days + digital.
I can’t find an intro offer for weekend print + digital which I’d prefer.

Would be great to see the 1 year FT Weekend print offer again for £99 in the next few weeks.

To note this is £1000 spend at BA, not general spend on the card.

Good point but does include a long list of European Marriotts which might be useful if you can prepay for your next trip or two.

We have it, note it is for “Participating Avios partners include British Airways flights, Marriott International European locations, Avis and Heathrow Express. See participating locations for Marriott here. For Avis, Offer only valid online at http://www.avis.co.uk and http://www.carhire-ba.com.”

If I recall for Platinium insurance to be valid you have to pay for the flights with the card? This means the only upcoming expense eligible I can’t actually use this card for!

Second time typing this due to the ridiculous captcha thing on this site!! But my understand is that Platinum insurance is valid as long as you pay for the flight on an Amex card, doesn’t need to be the Platinum card – I’ve always put my BA flights on my BAPP for the 3 Avios per £.

It’s also valid if the airline does not accept Amex. There are a few more obscure ones that don’t.

Thanks, Andrew and Meta, did not realise I can pay with any Amex. Can you point me to the relevant T&C? I can’t find it, can only find a reference by an article by Rob. Thanks

What is the chances of this applying when you book hotline tickets? Not that it will sway my decision much lol

The Financial Times cashback offer is a bizarre one. I have a quarterly FT Weekend subscription for £40ish. Pretty much every quarter, the FT runs a new Amex offer and I change the card they charge to the one which currently has £25 cashback on it. It can’t make any sense for the FT to do this.

I have the 2000 bonus avios offer. Have a couple of bookings to make which might trigger it. My offers always seem to be very underwhelming when I’m within my £10k spending window for the 241!

My understanding is that Platinum insurance is valid if you pay for the flight on any Amex card – I’ve always put my BA flights on my BAPP because you earn three times as many Avios as you would on the Platinum card.

That’s a good idea. My subscription is annual and I don’t always get the offer when it renews.

Andrew J thank you for this. I called the Amex Axa line and they pointed me to the exact wording. I wouldn’t have known if you did not point this out. Happy days as about to make a big booking.

I just noticed a decent BA Amex offer: Spend £30 collect 1,000 Avios at Menkind, by 06/02/2022.

    Offpsring’s Minecraft Christmas presents sorted!

(edit: 10% cash back at certain cash back sites too)
