Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Amex voucher, open-jaw, extra availability

  • 42 posts

    Hello all!

I’m hoping to do something with an Amex voucher that I’ve never tried to do before – and before I spend half a day working out a full itinerary with hotels etc., I’d appreciate a quick sanity check on whether the flight-related part will work.

The plan is to fly (from London) out to Toronto, travel overland, and then return from Montreal. I understand that I can’t book this online but should be able to do it by phoning up.

If I search for the two flights as one-way bookings on ba.com, I can see plenty of availability, but only if I apply an Amex BAPP voucher (because of the way it gives access to additional seats). It’ll just be me travelling, so I’d be using the voucher in 50%-off mode.

So, would I expect that when I call up, I’ll be able to book two of those “extra availability” tickets as a single open-jaw booking, using a single Amex voucher? I don’t see why not, but more experienced people may know better!

@R76 – yes, you can do this over the telephone. BA agents can access the extra availability on the same basis as you are seeing it online. They shouldn’t charge you a fee as it’s not possible to make open jaw Avios bookings online.

@JDB Thanks for the reply. I will plan with confidence!
