    So booked a reward flight with my BC upgrade voucher to Dubai yesterday, needed to call as flying from Glasgow. First the Glasgow flight I wanted was not showing for her even though I could see it on my dummy booking (without going in to select the class) not even a ‘1 seat remaining’ message but then I made the payment on for taxes of £375 and she asked if I got a payment text which I didn’t so she said needed to take payment again, before this I logged into my Amex app and seen the payment as pending, she then said that since it’s pending it never went through, after advising her how credit cards generally charge this way she got my permission to take payment.

    As expected, I now have 2 payments pending, I am hoping one will drop off otherwise probably need to call and wait weeks to get a refund with the fear they refund the wrong one and end up messing with my booking.

    Well fingers crossed! Really wish they would invest in a new booking system (yes aware of the cost and implementation issues this would involve) but god, at some point they need to bite the bullet.

    Just book it online next time then ring to add the connection for free so you don’t have to bother with phone payments!

    But they should only process one of the payments, keep an eye on it over the next few days to see if one drops off.

    Your right, when I got through on the phone it was just then I thought should have booked then added connection, have done this a few times before so don’t know what I was thinking.

    You might have two pending CC transactions but do you have one or two booking references / confirmation emails? What shows in MMB?

    The former is normal and the ‘extra’ entry will soon drop off. If it’s the latter that’s more complicated to sort but you’re in control as you can tell them which to cancel.

    Just the one booking & email checked MMB and my booking was confirmed when the first payment applied but no email at that point. They have taken the correct amount of Avios so looks like it should be ok and as you say, hopefully the first pending payment will drop off over the coming days.

    Main thing is the tickets are booked and confirmed as it was a last minute avios booking so did not want to loose the seats.
