Forums Payment cards American Express Any fee’s for booking restaurants abroad in Paris from UK?

    Hi,

New to Amex, I have the BA Amex Premium Plus. I’m trying to do all my spending on this card to get the £3k in 3 months offer. My question is, If I make an online reservation for a restaurant that charges me in euros, will their be fees onto for the currency? I’m sitting in my house in England as I do this, not in France.

It does say ‘Booking subject to an immediate payment of €298’ so its not a case of holding the card on file and charging me when I am there.

(I do have a Halifax Clarity which is oversees friendly so if Amex changes fees, perhaps it’s better to use my Clarity for trips abroad)

    Many thanks

I think they’re a 2.99% fee on foreign currency transactions.
