Has anyone used the iPhone offer (spend £800 get £80 back), the details of the offer suggest it will work with any online Apple purchase (“Includes iPhone 15 transactions”) and not just the iPhone? Am looking to get a new iPad and windered whether to use my Platinum card?
Previously it’s been the case for me that any Apple purchase triggers these offers.
Make sure to go via a shopping portal too. The BA one will pay the Avios really quickly on Apple, and in my experience Apple are by some distance the most reliable payers on these portals.

There are variants that are a good bit more than that.
I had an online chat to ask whether this spend was specific to an I-Phone 15 and was told that you need to purchase an Iphone15 but can have any amount of add-ons. I said this didn’t make sense as the offer says “includes I-phone15 purchases”, but the representative was quite adamant as she referred to the title of the offer specially saying “I-Phone 15”.

It’s also my experience buying anything over the threshold will trigger the offer. Not sure Amex even know what you’ve bought, Apple probably name the offer as such to encourage iPhone purchases.
Been a few years since I’ve done this, but have previously bought gift cards with product-specific offers such as these and it always worked well.

I’ve had the complete opposite, never been able to get them to do a free repair, and instead had to goto retailer to get a exchange, that option is gone if your retailer and manufacturer is the same company. Also never heard of this extra year warranty?

Well if you had to go to the retailer doesn’t that suggest you didn’t buy from Apple direct?
I believe John Lewis also do the additional year warranty.
Yes, it’s a 2 year warranty, plus 3 months of Apple TV etc which the wife wants for her stories. Not as many Avios through the BA portal as Apple direct, but definitely worth it given the price difference.
I’m planning to buy a laptop with the offer, someone the other day claims apple in store will price match against costco so will try that too…

If you buy from Apple (or apparently John Lewis) versus A N Other retailer you’ll get an extra years warranty. I’ve taken both Apple direct purchase and things acquired via Vodafone to the Apple Store with issues. In every case service on things acquired direct from Apple has been more understanding, leeway on the warranty, discounted repairs (swaps). The Non-Apple direct items have always been strict application of warranty terms. I’m not talking about 3 or 4 examples here, but 15 or 20.
Your experience may vary but mine has been 100% in favour of purchasing from Apple.

dougzz99 is correct about the unwritten benefits of buying directly from Apple. I didn’t know that this also applied to purchases from JL.
I have always used this offer to buy an Apple gift card. The cash back has triggered every time.
Just a regular reminder Apple will also price match Amazon or other online retailers in store.
Can you use your account balance in store though?

But the max gift card you can buy is £500 ? so is the offer cumulative.

They don’t do price matching anymore but it used to be the case.
You can’t use your account balance but you can use a physical gift card.
