Avios Reward Flights on Qantas

I’m looking at trying to get Qantas Flights using Avios.

I’m having no issue finding internal flights Sydney – Melbourne, Brisbane – Sydney etc.

Using BA reward search I am unable to get any flights from Denpasar to Sydney and for Sydney/Melbourne to Hong Kong. Is there another way to try book these flights using Avios or it just due to the lack of reward availability.

Definitely an ongoing lack of, issue. We ended up having to book QF SIN BNE to get to SYD (now cancelled) and none from SIN to DPS at all, so booked direct on Jetstar. There was space on MAS in J via KUL, which we cancelled to reduce flights. So yes, not great options. Just lucky if you find them… keep trying is all.

Well documented in the blogs and press down there, I believe the head of loyalty has just quit too. Way too many people chasing too few seats

Yes, I suppose this was predictable. It is a shame she wasn’t chosen as CEO, as some people had hoped. Qantas have promised to make more award space available by way of apology for their recent problems, but it is likely to only be for their own frequent flyer members. International awards on Qantas in anything but economy are usually hard to find.
